A Tiny Bird

Bird is the Word at CYDI? Here is the fabulous inspiration collage: Who wouldn't be inspired by those cute birds! Hope they inspire you to go create something and enter this challenge! They inspired me and here is my card using Green Goddess Digi Papers from the Can You Digi It? Store. The pink is from Lelia's Hunny Bunny paper pack and the Bird is from her Bird is the Word package. I had never used colored digi papers and now I am addicted. My other products are all from SU! other than the flower and netting which are from my stash. Hugz to all, and I hope to see you in the challenge (you don't have to use items from CYDI? but we would love it if you did).

Wedding Wishes

Yesterday was my first wedding shopping day with my daughter Crystal. She isn't getting married until May, but we are trying to purchase things when they are on sale and when we have time as we know the days will sneak up on us. I was in such a wedding mood after the trip that I couldn't resist doing a wedding card for Lydia's Dirty Girl Fan Club Celebration Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I used a Sizzix ef, MFT rolled roses die (I purchased the die from Can You Digi It?), and Martha Stewart branch and leaf punches. Hugz!

Some Sunday Creations

I love this Mike Eustis Image . Mike is a new artist at Can You Digi It?, and I have been checking out his work all over the web - what talent that man has! I had seen this image before, and I had totally fallen in love with it. I popped over to Squigglefly and purchased it this morning. I used a page out of an old cookbook I purchased for 50 cents at a thrift store for the side panel. You can barely see my paper piercing on this one. It is on the sentiment - I really call it paper pecking as it looks like a little chick has attacked it rather than organized paper piercing. We have chickens, and if one was helping me in the kitchen it would more likely be pecking my paper than stirring my brownies! LOL! I am entering this card in the following challenges: Squigglefly Paper Piercing - SFC2912 Pile It On - PIO#31 Cute DYSU#82 For a Friend This is my first time entering a Squigglefly or Do You Stack Up challenge - fun, fun, fun! Do you ever have days (or weeks) where it seems

Movie Madness

The Haunted Design House (HDH 143) Challenge this week is Movie Madness. Our creations are to be inspired by movies. Mine was inspired by Red Riding Hood (and every scary movie I have seen with a wolf or werewolf in it). Fun, fun, fun. Hugz!

Dude Time Doodles Blog Hop Week

The new releases at Dude Time Doodles are sooo fun! If you are participating the the hop you came here from Dawn and got to see her incrediable creation. I get to present the new Pierre Painter image. I had a blast playing with him. I couldn't decide what dp to use so I just "painted" on some card stock with various paints and glitter glue. My sentiment is a quote from the Master, Da Vinci. Thanks for visiting my blog today. Now it is time to see what Charlene created. If you didn't come from Dawn's blog and want to participate click HERE to go to the Dude Time Doodles Blog. Remember one lucky commenter will win the prize, and these fun new images will all be available in the store today after 10 AM (EST). Hugz!

A few Sunday Afternoon Creations

I had a little time today to play (after my nap which I love almost as much as crafting)... so I decided to jump in and attempt the Retro Sketch challenge#21. Several of my very good friends participate and their cards are always scrumptious. I love how this came out and it is going to a dear friend who will not get it in time for her birthday but she will understand. I am sending her all the materials to make a card like it if she wants plus a few more goodies. Here is the fun sketch: It is a sketch from a card done by Tracey McNeely. What a fun sketch! Here is my attempt: I used a piece of a box for the tag (I just peeled off the top layer), some ribbon I got from JoAnns for 99 cents a few weeks ago, and a SU! Birthday image as the recipient is a SU! demo. The papers are all SU! and HL Everyday Kraft. My last creation of the weekend is a card for the SplitCoast Stamper's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge involved giraffes and our cards are going of

Some Fun Christmas Cards

It is time for some Christmas cards - I am so glad I got a few more of them done. They are encouraging Christmas cards at Going Grey (Scrap-Creations) Challenge (GGSC122), Angels or Fantasy at Southern Girls #49 , and Anything Goes at Jackson's Digital Expressions #14 (they are sponsored by Bugaboo but Robert Jackson has to pretty awesome images). So my first card is for Going Grey, my second for Southern Girls and my last for Jackson's Digital Expressions. I used a LilyPink Designs image available at Can You Digi It? Isn't it pretty? The paper is gcd Parisan Nights (some of fav paper in the world). I recently won some Bugaboo imagesa and I love them - aren't these angels sweet? Another totally adorable image from Bugaboo. Love these things! I do believe I am getting the Christmas Spirit already! Hugz to all!

Alabama vs. Auburn

Living in Alabama, I am right in the middle of the legendary Alabama vs. Auburn rivalry. Half my friends and family are huge Alabama fans and the other half are Auburn fans. The last few years, the rivalry has heated up as they have both won National Championships. Things are so competitive here that when you meet new people, it is one of the first things they ask you about. To play it safe, I tell them I am a Lobo fan (University of New Mexico) - that usually confuses them since hardly anyone has heard of the Lobos. LOL! This week's Dude Time Doodles challenge is Anything Goes so I decided to use Ted Tightend to make an Alabama card for a friend. I had so much fun that I went ahead and made an Auburn card as well. I am entering these dueling cards in the Make It Monday #98 Anything Goes challenge as well. This is my first time entering and I love how they encourage other participants to encourage fellow participants. How great is that! This week's Dude T

A card inspired by Kenny

Kenny Chesney inspired the direction I took with this card for the newest Can You Digi It? challenge - A Day at the Beach (it starts today at 7:00 AM EST). I love Kenny Chesney. I watched his No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem video several times before I started this card using the LilyPink Designs truck out of her Truckin' set available at Can You Digi It? The video is sooo fun and festive and has a very Mexican bar feel to it, so I added a little Jolee's staw hat at the top. I sponged the Spellbinders die cut with SU! Crumb Cake and Bashful blue. The paper is Prima and SU! Come play in the challenge with us - there is a $10 certificate to the store for the winner. Michelle has stocked the store full of wonderful new items and several new artists have joined us - you need to check it out! I am entering this card in the Fresh Brewed Blog SummerTime Challenge and Pile It On #29 kick back and relax challenge as well. Hugz!

Humble Pie

This week's Featured Stamper at Splitcoast Stampers is Cynthia (aka StampinAK)and you can click here to see the card I cased from her blog. Cynthia did the card for the last Can You Digi It? Challenge. I loved the sketch and her use of super fun papers. I actually was going to use a dog image, but... you know how that often goes. Unfortunately, I needed an "I am sorry" card today. The recipient loves bees so I thought the use of the lovely bee paper from Prima would help me get back in her good graces. Actually, she forgave me in less than 5 minutes, but I thought I would send a card anyway. The bowl full of pie ingredients is from Clear Stamps by The Paper Studio (was the closest I had to a pie image). I am also entering this card in the Ribbon Carousel RCC61 challenge (Buttons and Bows) and the Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude Challenge #18 (Anything goes). Hugz to all!

A flower, a feather, and a few moths...

This week's Haunted Design House challenge is a sketch (HDH141 - Butchered Blueprint), but it is NOT an ordinary sketch! I love really cool sketches so I had soooo much fun with this one. I love to make large flowers with the Spellbinders Blossom Two dies so this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I haven't yet decided on a sentiment or inside but I am leaning toward the front saying something like "Hold Tight to Your Dreams" and then inside something like "like that one about being a Cullen." I have a friend who is having a tough time lately and she is a Twilight fanatic. My papers are from SU!, DCWV Maroiposa (the moths on the left side) and the Everyday Kraft pack by The Paper Studio. I also used one of the SB leaf dies, a netting sample sent to me by Michelle at Can You Digi It? ages ago, some Ziva black crystals, staples, and some feathers. Hope you are holding tight to your dreams! Hugz!

The Newest Freebie At Dude Time Doodles

The challenge this week at Dude Time Doodles is to use this Jimmy Gymnastics Image in a fun creation. The prize is you get to be the Guest Designer for August and hang out with the super fun Dude and Dudettes. The image is free this week if you enter, and it is a super image that can be used in many ways. My card is a late birthday card for my Brother-in-law. Hope you will join us - it is always soooo fun to see what others make with the same image. Hugz!

Butterflies, cupcakes, coffee, and a Romantic poem

This week's Queen for the Day at Splitcoast Stampers is Angela (aka Arizona Maine) who is a very talented card artist. I cased this lovely card out of her gallery. What a gallery that girl has! I could make a zillion variations of this card! The papers did all the work (The Mariposa stack from DCWV). I used a sheet for my center panel and cut the butterfly out of another sheet to use as the focal point. It is actually a card for a friend at work - hope he doesn't mind it is a bit girly with the pearls and swirls. I also cased this week's Featured Stamper - Debbie (aka swldebbie) who has a darling gallery full of lovely CAS sketches and fun images. This is her card that I cased. The image I used is from Fresh Brewed Designs and is available free if you join their facebook party. The rules are that join the facebook party, use the image, and do paper piecing or piercing. The challenge details can be found here . Lastly, one of my old

Vile to Vintage

The Haunted Design House Challenge this week (HDH#140) is Vile Vintage - take something Vile and make it look vintage. My electric bill is one of the vilest things I have so I decided to age it and use it to make a leather/wooden looking box. This is my BEFORE picture and under it is my AFTER picture. I plan to use it to hold some vintage western cards that will be a part of a birthday gift I am sending to a friend. It has some issues, but I am rolling with it!!! Hugz!

Baseball Piled High!

Today I discovered some new challenges and got to play in some old favorites so it is a good day. To top it all off, my Pop is going to get to eat hotdogs and potato salad or whatever he wants today. After several months of being on a feeding tube, getting to chew and eat real food is a true freedom to celebrate. My card is made with the Dude Time Doodles RBI Robby image and I paper-pieced and layered the image after coloring it with Copics and SU! Markers. I also used the pennant which can be purchased dirt cheap! One of the new challenges I found this morning is the Pile It On Challenge - the goal is to make a card that meets the rules of more than one challenge. You can win a $10 gift certificate to Dude Time Doodles if you win which makes the challenge even more fun!!! So here are the wonderful challenges I met with this card: Dude Time Doodles - Fun in the Sun (make a card showing Summer fun) Pile It On #27 - For a Guy With a Sports Theme Totally Paper Crafts - Use a D

A Little Too Much Fun in the Sun!

Fun in the Sun is the name of this weeks's Dude Time Doodles Challenge . I used two Dude Time Doodles Images: Ice Bucket and Airplane Crash . I printed the bucket and the plane seperately and then cut out the plane and some grass so it would cover part of the bucket. Good thing the plane is only a remote controlled one. I know this card will crack up my pilot buddies. The beer bottle on the right is from a Jolee's Sticker set. I am so thrilled Dude Time Doodles asked me to stay on as a Designer. When I go to the Dude Time Doodles Store and start clicking around, a zillion ideas start popping in my head. If you haven't been in there lately (or ever) you sooo need to go check it out. Hope your day is full of fun! Hugz!

A Tag and some more Christmas in July

This week's Dilly Beans Challenge is Tags. I don't make a lot of tags so this was fun to make! I used part of the top of the box my computer came in, and I distressed it by peeling off some layers, painting it, and sponging on some ink. I used some other distressed items like a piece of left overChristmas Mesh and a scrap of binding wire from an old watercolor paper pad. I added a barefoot Girlz image from Bugaboo, a digi button card from Can You Digi It?, some buttons, pearls, and fibers. I am planning on tying this to a bottle of wine or some bubble bath liquid and giving it to a friend who is having a very tough time right now. The latest Can You Digi It? challenge really sparked my creativity. I posted a New Year's card this morning and tonight I wanted to share a 4th of July Card. I made both cards with the AnnieJ Designs Framed Mountain image (available at Can You Digi It?). I changed the color of the image to purple, added a sentiment, cut it out

Christmas in July!!!

IT girl April came up with the new Can You Digi It? challenge , and she brought back some college memories for me. The challenge involves making a holiday card with out using a holiday image. Don't you love the collage of photos she picked out for inspiration? I think April meant for us to go with the Christmas holidays, but I went with New Year's because it always has to take a back seat to the rest of the holidays (actually it may take a front seat since it is the first one...). I used the very cool Framed Mountains Digi Image created by AnnieJ Designs. The image comes with three images of mountains with various tones. I cropped out one of the frames and then cut it with a Spellbinders Oval Die. I also used some crystals from the Zva Crystal Wheel available at Can You Digi It? At $3.50, I think it is one of the best values in crafting out there! Oh yeah, back the college memories. My first two years in college at the Univerity of New Mexico, I dated a nice young man wh

A Haunted Recipe

This week's Haunted Design House Challenge (HDH#139) requires following a Haunted Recipe: Begin with 2 layers (actual card counts as 1 layer) - oh, this was tough for me!!! Add 1 main image - this hurt as it took me an hour to color it!!! Mix in some metal bits of your choosing - Fun way to use my clock hands!!! Add some drops of black pearls - Easy! Gently fold in 1 punched element - Not tough for a PUNCHKATEER! Tie up nicely with some ribbon or trim - Yay! I love me some ribbon! One of my newest image is the Saturated Canary Witchkeys so I decided to use it. I loved how it looked on someone else's card, but I forgot to consider the coloring involved when I ordered it. I only own a few Copics and they are mostly flesh colors and browns. Not one to give up too easily, I decided to tackle this one with supplies on hand. I broke out my SU! markers and used them with my Copics. The blending didn't work as well, but it works for me!!! I cook like th
