Dots and FLowers

I had to get in a couple more flower creations before May is over! My first page is inspired by the **Art*Journal*Journey* and THESE nails. Card going to my sweet aunt who sent me a great card and a little treat this week - she is a CTMH demonstrator and very creative! The BAJ page focuses on praising God with shouts of joy, sweet words, and song, Doodled the BAJ dots and stenciled the card circle.  The flowers are the To A Wild Rose from SU! painted with Arteza Gouache colors. Had to add in some fun ladies to jazz things up a bit. New toys to play with on my second creations.  These were done for the **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* challenge and the Teapot Tuesday challenge with was red, white, and blue but not patriotic. Page and card made with new Rubbernecker Wildflowers in the wind and Dina K greeting from IO. Love the sentiment from my friend Dina K.  It is at IO.  Such a true statement, but seems we humans can't resist looking back and forth too much. Here is a pi

Little Things Mean A Lot and Life is Love

Hello crafty friends. A few weeks ago, I found the thumb-drive that had a bunch of my old digital images on it and I have been looking through it.  Today I found this Lynne Stansbery Blow Me A Kiss image.  I thought it would be perfect for the **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* Challenge (flowers) and the T ry it on Tuesday challenge (lovely ladies).   This is probably the prettiest image I have in my collection.  I colored her with colored pencils.  The sentiment on the card is computer generated and on the BAJ page it is part of a DRS Designs stamp and tiny tag word from SU!  Punched out the love word with a SU! Tiny Tag punch and tied on some silver thread.   The background of the BAJ page is gesso, Dylusions Spray, and Distress Oxidides.  There is a base layer of gesso and then another with thick white gesso applied on a script stencil.   Thanks for visiting! Fish, Bacon and the Beach

I actually ventured out this weekend.  I wore my mask and hit the smoothie drive thru with my youngest daughter.  We also went to the grocery store and actually went inside.  I have been doing the curbside pickup, but just had to get out.  First "outing" since March 19th, and I have to say it was very nice and much needed.  I have been crafting away to keep my sanity.  I made this detailed wreath card for last week's SCS Inspiration challenge and to show off the lovely 3 in 1 Ocean Floor image at DRS Designs.  THIS was my inspiration.  I did an ink/spray/smash pap and stamped the image all over.  Fussy cut everything and formed it into a wreath.  A few gems and it was done.  Ink/spray/smash bg on the base as well.  I made a matching BAJ page with the leftovers and an inked up and water spritzed stencil.  I did a few more beach themed creations as well. I drew this one and painted with water-colors (Pencils).  It is going off to cheer up a lovely lady who lov

Artist Inspiration and Some Much Loved Old Stamps

Hello crafty friends. I really needed to relax this weekend, and I was able to do it.  I finished a very good Debbie Macomber book, If Not For You, cleaned up my car, and got in a couple of naps.  I did a few more BAJ pages as well.  I got a bit adventurous with this first one. It was inspired by THIS creation of  Freidensreich Hundertwasser. The prompt came from the MIX challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com and the flower theme at * *ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* .  Freidensreich was very into recycling so I did several layers of tissue paper I was going to throw out and the tea bag label from my green tea.  Lots of gesso including one thick layer over an Andy Skinner stencil.  I painted the flowers with Arteza gouache paints and metallic Zig Painty pen.  Psalm 146:1-2.  Hallelujah! My soul, praise the Lord. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I live.  Beautiful words. My second creation was a case of THIS card by this week's Featured Stamp

Ladies, Fish, and a Horse

I had a little time to do a BAJ page last night with my daughter consulting (she was making dinner and I was asking her for suggestions on what to do next to the page and she was actually answering).  I had put off doing Psalm 80 because the Psalm actually seemed to have a lot of anger/revenge in it and it just wasn't speaking to me.  I had to do it though because I am not moving to another book in the bible until I have this one done.  Last night I made it a challenge to get it done.  I chose verse 3 only.  We used the Try It on Tuesday Lovely Ladies challenge, the **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* flower challenge, and my daughter's Stash Tea Bag Tag top as our inspiration.  The flowers are all in their hats.  Allie said not to add the fabric flower to the woman's hat but I just had to do it.  I neglected to post my fish card from last week on my blog.  More new images from DRS Designs. Also I found I had neglected to post this BAJ page previously as well.  I debated posting

A Cat in the Flowers

Hope you all are having a good week! I had some MOJO issues in my BAJ lately, so I took some inspiration from the **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* flower theme picked by Mia and the Splitcoaststampers.com Tea Party theme (do a card with cats or dogs or spelling out one of them with your items).  The card is going to the daughter of one of the participants who has been facing some big set backs in health and wealth but staying very positive.  The BAJ page is for all of us as we are remarkably and wondrously made as is written in Psalm 139:14.  I think within the next month, I will have Psalms done.  I drew the flowers, painted them with watercolors, stamped the cat, and distressed the edges.  I added a bit of doodling to tie the flowers in together more. I also have this card to share with new images from DRS Designs - the porthole and the 3 in 1 ocean floor images combined with the Go with the Flow Greeting.  The images will be hitting the store this week.  I also wanted to share the h

Catch UP Post

I haven't posted in a while but I have been busy here in rural Alabama trying to avoid cabin fever and Corona! Try it on Tuesday last time was fun with stencils and this time is one color mixed with Black and White - I have both on my two cards.  I love stencils  and I love Vintage photo ink!!!! Here is one made by inking up my stencil with Vintage Photo Ink, spritzing with water and then slapping it down on the page: The short little man is from Squirrel and Frog, the leaves are SU!, and the sentiment is REDlead. Did another with him popped up an the leaves sponged. I did this one over the weekend but it has stencils too- but a few too many colors.  I used my favorite chicken wire stencil: Made the clay sculpture following THIS video (love that music on the video and this girl is talented). My octopus is not as cool as hers, but I tried! Painted with gold mica powder.  The shells are DRS Designs.  Did a kind of matching BAJ page: Another Psalm.  I used my chick

Flowers and Mice

Quick post today - the pictures were taken fast as got lost in the BAJ page I did this morning and I need to go get ready for work. I had to make something this morning because there is a new theme at * *ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* and I just had to play.  The new theme is flowers - wow, I see a lot of  journal pages with flowers in my future. Today's page took a lot of different directions.  I messed it up like 20 times and had to do something else to it to get it to work for me.  I messed up my Zentangle and had to cover a few spots, them got a blob or two of gesso where I didn't want it, etc. - journaling fast is not always easy!  I started the page with the prompt from the Teapot Tuesday challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com which is to channel your inner Mary Delany (read the article - it is amazing - she is my hero). After I messed up my page, I saw the Mixed Media Challenge at Splitcoast stampers was to chalk it up - add some white paint over a vividly painted random backgro
