Some Strawberries

Don't these strawberries look yummy? I love this Pattie's Creations Image - darn that Anne Temple for getting me addicted to yet another artist (by the way Patty is having a big sale starting tommorrow)! My card is going to last week's destination station at the Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS; a sweet little boy who is fighting some major challenges and loves strawberry milkshakes (I think I got that right). I know this card does not look the least bit like a card for a young man, but I am fixing that with goodies designed exactly for one like a potato gun and some plastic bugs. I am entering this card in the Perfect Sentiments Challenge because I just love the sentiment I typed and it is Anything Goes in that challenge (PSC47 - Anything Goes with a Sentiment). Hope your day is filled with something wonderful - maybe even a strawberry milkshake. Hugz!

Sandy Beaches

If you are following the Dude Time Doodles August blog hop, you came here from the very talented Mags who showcased Grilling Gil, and now I get to show you Sandy Beaches. Isn't he great? If the latest storm wasn't scheduled to hit us in Alabama, I would be wanting to go to the beach after seeing how much fun he is having in that sand! Now it's time to see what the fabulous Dawn has created. All the new images are available at the Dude Time Doodles store. If you want to start at the begining of the hop click HERE . Hugz!

Skeery Numbers

The new Can You Digi It? challenge is What's Your Number? Use Papers or Images with Numbers. I used the LilyPink Designs Pick a Number image and layered it on Green Goddess Creations Haunted and Hunny Bunny Papers. Other Challenges this qualifies for: I love that spider in the corner of the Haunted paper page which also qualifies this card for the SCS Twisted Sisters challenge from last week which is to use a spider on your creation. I made it into a birthday card so it fits this week's Pattie's Creations challenge which is all about birthdays. I spy several "P" words on this: Pink, Patterned Paper, Pun - so it qualifies for the Pile It On Challenge . Hugz to all!

Childhood Memories

I made this card for the Twisted Sisters Challenge a week ago and forgot to load it. The chalenge involved making something reflecting a favorite childhood memory and then to tell the story. My image is from Dilly Beans, and I think it is so sweet. I bought it because it reminded me of my sister and I when we were little - in one of the moments when we were not fighting of course. My mother loved to sew and made us the cutest matching dresses - we always had a new one around the holidays. One Christmas, she saw some cute green dresses at the store and she just had to buy them. We didn't have a lot of money, so this was a huge splurge. She loved the dresses, but we hated them. They had some kind of scratchy netting on the inside to make them fluff out and they were soooo uncomfortable. They also had this white lace at the neck that dug into our skin. I tried to replicate the dresses on this card. You thought that was my memory didn't you? My favorite memories are of my lit...

Fight Like A Girl

At Squigglefly the challenge (SFC3312) is all about using a technique(s). I used a free image from the store, and I distressed it and also digially added texture with one of the Artistic Effects in the Word program. My mother is a Breast Cancer Survivor, and she sends cards to several people who are currently in the middle of fighting it. She loved it, and plans to send it off this week. Hugz!

A Toaster

In celebration of Anne Temple 's Birthday, I made her this birthday card using a Pattie's Creation Image (I am entering this in the Pattie's Creations Challenge #51 - Birthdays). I love this toaster - isn't it fun? Happy Birthday Anne!!!! Hugz!

Joni's Birthday Surprise

Today, a few of my friends are celebrating the birthday of the world famous Joni! Joni is a wonderful card artist and a fellow Can You Digi It? DT member. She is celebrating a giant birthday milestone today (its a big one but she shouldn't worry one bit 'cause she looks fabulous). We are asking everyone to drop by Joni's blog and leave her some birthday wishes. She has no idea we are doing this so I hope she is still speaking to us after today!!! LOL. Here is the birthday card I made Joni: I used the Mike Eustis Fur-ocious image available at Can You Digi It? I colored the image with Copics and Spica pens, and I used a Punch-A-Bunch leaf punch to make my bush and the bg (I sponged different colors for the bg and sponged them around some of the punched leafs). I also stold some more of the moss in one of my DHs arrangements (shhhhhh - he told me not to take anymore of it but it was a special ocassion and all). Joni loves animals so I am pretty sure she is going t...

A Comforting Bird

CYDI? is sponsoring the Sisterhood of Crafter's Challenge this week and the theme is Sympathy. I used the Feathered Friend image by A Creative Need which available at Can You Digi It? I am having so much fun experimenting with my new Copic and Spica pens. Sadly, we could probably all use a few more Sympathy cards so this is a great challenge for us all to enter. Hugz!

A Fishing Lure

It's time for the August Inspiration Challenge at Dude Time Doodles and this month it is all about..........drum roll.........BUTTONS! All you have to do is create a project for a dude and use buttons - easy, easy! You don't have to use an image from Dude Time Doodles, but we really like it when you do! This week's sponsor is Pattie's Creations . Pattie has the cutiest images - you so need to check them out. The winner of this challenge will win their choice of two Pattie's Creations images. I used the Lure 2 image on my gift tag. At .49 cents it is a great deal and you can purchase a more elaborate version of it as well. With a zillion fishermen in my family, this image is perfect for cards and tags. It also works well paired with fishermen images and Dude Time Doodles has several of them (along with fishing poles, worms squiggling in a pail, etc). I used a piece of the cardboard from the bottom of a frozen pizza (I hate to admit I eat frozen pizzas,...

Coffee and a Cupcake

I had to clean off the kitchen counter to make this card and take this picture - it was covered with the supplies the tile layers are using to put down the tile in my house. Hopefully this week, I will finally have the new floor I have been dreaming of for the last few years. Today Maureen who is known as Mamamostamps was named the new Featured Stamper at SCS. I chose this card to case. I kept her fun coffe theme and the layout of her main panel. I changed the colors, papers, image, and sentiment. I used the Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge August Inspirational Photo as my inspiration for the colors, and I am entering this card in that challenge as well. All my papers are SU! and my image is from Fresh Brewed Designs. Hugz to all!

Can You Digi It? Purple Please Challenge

They actually let me pick the current challenge at Can You Digi It? , and I picked the pretty purple images put into this lovely inspiration board by our fearless leader Michelle: The challenge is called "Purple Please. I made my creation using the new LilyPink Designs Christmas Baubles . I printed the grouped image out two times- once for the main panel and once for the full ornament grouping. I also printed out a single ornament with the sentiment. For my papers, I used StripedElephants digi paper. This was the first time I digitally layered two papers. I masked the green paper and sponged around it so it would like I had two seperate layers. This technique is soo great and opens up a world of possibilities including saving paper, saving ink, saving space..... Fun, fun, fun!!! I used Copic Markers and Spica pens to color my image (I have been doing a CopicMe workshop and I love it!!!!!). The gems on the bottom of my card are Sparklets from KaiserCraft and they ar...

Torn, Worn and Loved

Hello my name is Nancy, and I am a addicted to Snowmen. Isn't admitting addictions the first step in any rehabilation? Isn't this Dilly Beans Stressed Snowman Digi fun? The Shakespeare quote is very thought-provoking to me. I am not sure which masterpiece it came from or the context it was written in, but I have had it in my quotes to use collection for awhile. It has so many possible meanings. It could be the Romeo and Julet kind of love or the love that God has for us (even though we say stupid, horrible, meaningless things, He still loves us with a real, true, and forgiving love). Ok, enough deep stuff! Truth be known, this snowperson image represents how I feel most days since my medically induced menapause (or is this how everyone wlse feels around me? LOL). I am entering this in the following challenges: DillyBeans Designers and Friday Challenges - Worn, Torn and Distressed Pile It On - PIO#33 (Bingo - Ticket, image, faux sewing on the image) Crafts and Me ...

A Boy and His Dog

I just got this new image today and I had to use it right away. It is by Lynne Stansbery and is available at Squigglefly . This week's Squigglefly Challenge (SFC3112) is Black, Gray, and White - the perfect challenge for this great image. I am also entering this in the Pile It on Challenge PIO#32 - Add Metal, and Sweet Sketch Wednesday #166 (great sketch): Hugz!!!!

New Butterflies

Can You Digi It? adds new artists and products every week (some times daily). My favorites are new paper, images, and artists. They recently added a new line from Delightfully Distressing Designs . The colors and designs are AMAZING! So the story is that I was suppose to make something with a DDD image or paper so it could be posted with the announcement on the CYDI? blog. Then there was a second chance when more DT members posted wonderful creations (check them out here ). Sadly, I missed that as well. Most paper crafters I know love butterflies - some are even addicted to them! If you love butterflies and the gorgeous colors of nature, Delightfully Distressing Designs is perfect for you! Since I just discovered last night 30 minutes before bed that I had missed the announcement (I so need to check my email more), I did a CAS card. I pulled the butterfly into Word and changed the tone of the image to fade it out using the color button in the Adjust section of Format (under satur...

Big Dreams

It's Guest Designer/Freebie Week at Dude Time Doodles . We do this once a month, and it is your chance to snag a fun digi if you promise to play with it and enter it in our challenge this week (the prize is wonderful so be sure and read the short list of rules). The challenge actually runs two weeks this month since there is an extra Wednesday - so you have extra time to play. The free image is the Youth Football image which is perfect for this time of year! Last weekend was the first sign up date for Youth Football in our area and there were lines down the streets!!! Football is huge in Alabama!!! I colored my image to match up with Prattville colors (the school won the 6-A State Championship again this year - they are amazing). All the little boys in the area dream of playing on that team and they start early. Well, that sums up extent of what I know about football other than that there is a ball, field, goal, and some rules (like head for the women's restroom 10 minute...

Bats!

It is Freaker's Free for All at Haunted Design House (HDH144) so participants can pretty much make what they want. The sponsor is Tiddly Inks so I used my fav Batty Tiddly Inks image. I love how my up-sized bats came out on this card! My papers are SU! and Green Goddess Creations Haunted Digi Stack (available at CYDI?). Hugz to all! Other Supplies used: Purple Checkered Ribbon - JoAnn's (I distressed with sissors) Siver half beads - Hobby Lobby Metal Flourishes - Jolees Boo Sticker - $1 bin at JoAnn's Studio G - Mini Skull Punch SU! and Copic Markers Stickles - Gold

A dog and a Pinwheel

It's Wednesday! The Dude Time Doodles Challenge this week is all about Travel. I chose to use this super fun Windy Dog image from the Dude Time Store. He is having such a good time traveling! He reminds me of the Geico Pig, Maxwell, so I had to use Maxwell's line - the one that made him famous (this link is the original commercial plus a remix- too funny). I just had to add a pinwheel too (click HERE to see the tutorial I used to make it). Enter your travel cards (for a guy) in this week's Dude Time Challenge, and you could win your choice of three Dude Time images! Hope you will play along.
