An Odd Chick

The chick is really not odd, but this week's Squigglefly challenge is "Odd Man Out" (SFC1713) and calls for images or embellishments or other items in "odd" numbers. I used one image, one sentiment, three stars, three Stickle drops on each side of the sentiment, five red Stickle drops on the top flower, and three gems. My image is Let's Get Cookin' by Mike Eustis and it was one of the first images I ever bought from Squigglefly. I just love baby chicks. My sentiment says "Cooking in Style" and inside it says "Thanks to your Generousity!" - it is one of the Thank You cards I made for my daughter to send for her Wedding Shower Gifts. I am entering this card in the Sketch Saturday challenge as I used the super fun sketch #256. The Squigglefly challenge is such a great challenge and so easy to play along with! Anyone can join in the fun using images from anywhere, but you need to use a Squigglefly image somewhere on your creati

The Last Card of the Weekend

Have I mentioned I am on a mission? I have been making Thank-you cards for weeks, and I have about 50 more to go. I am making them for my daughter Crystal's wedding shower gifts. I started making the same card over and over, but I got so bored that I just had to start making them different. I found a new challenge today, and I couldn't resist making one more thank-you card. At Squigglefly, they carry a lot of Cheryl Alger's images and I adore her work. Today, I realized that there is a blog called Sassy Cheryls Challenge Blog (I saw it on Sue's blog here ). The challenge this week is Monochromatic and you have to use a Sassy Cheryl image to fit the challenge rules. I went straight to the Sassy Cheryl store and purchased this super fun A Number 2 Pencil and Dream - but I cropped off the dream letters and wrote Thank-you. I love the Dream words but with so many Thank-you cards to do.... So only 49 more cards to go! Hugz!

Words About Friends and a Toaster

I woke up early and made some cards - good thing since we lost power about 8:00 and just got it back in time to start lunch. I visited the Can You Digi It? blog to see what my old friends were up to and noticed they are having a Sketch Challenge this week. I couldn't resist. My cool highway digi paper is from Green Goddess Creations and is available at Can You Digi It? My favorite song this week is The Highway Don't care sung by Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift and I thought some of the lyrics would go really well on this card: After I made my first card, I dropped by Retro Sketch and Dilly Beans and couldn't resist playing along with them either. It is think pink at Dilly Beans and I cropped up this fun Amalia and Laylah image and the Retro Sketch this week is wonderful. Next, I caught up on the Queen for the Day challenge (QFTD #162) at SCS where Jeanne S. is the Queen for the week. I looked through her gallery and found THIS cute card. I was going to favori

Showers and Flowers

I just can't resist doing the Squigglefly challenges when my "relax" weeks roll around! This week, Holly's group has inspired everyone to make a card fitting the title "April Showers Bring May Flowers " (SFC1613). You can pick from two options: Showers (water, blue, etc) or May Flowers - I did both. I dug out my fav Sam's Rainy Day image by Cheryl Alger - I just can't resist how fun it is to paper piece the umbrella and her face is sooo sweet. I have been in an Oz mood every since I went to see my friends Michael and Patty (and their dog Murphy) perform it in our local theater. It is such a wonderful story! So my sentiment says "When it Rains aren't you glad you are not the Wicked Witch." I used Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #98 - isn't it fun! Hope your Monday was good! Hugz!

Glittery Flowers and Prom Pics

The challenge this week at Pattie's Creations is Make It Sparkle - who can resist that! I used the Pansies in Pitcher image available in Pattie's Etsy shop. My papers are from HL and SU! and I printed the image in two different sizes so I could do the corner flower arrangement. This week was Allie's Senior Prom - she looked so pretty and I am so proud so I am going to share a few pictures here: I made her date Blake's boutonnierre too! Hugz to all!

A Mother's Day Card

This week's Squigglefly challenge (SFC1513) is: Mother May I - Make a Mother's Day card . I just love this Squigglefly Image called Baby of Mine . I added a few pink rolled roses and some Cheery Lynn vines. I hope you will join us in the challenge this week and make a Mother's Day card. Hugz!

SCS Featured Stamper Cards

I was able to find time to make several cards this weekend - may be my last weekend to play before Crystal's May wedding and Allie's Graduation. My first card is for the Haunted Design House challenge - HDH164 - Bare Bones . I used a Skelly image from Dilly Beans and cased THIS fun card from ebparker. I know my card is on the cutesy side for HDH, but it is what it is and I had to play as the HDH challenge is one of my favs. Actually, I cased several cards by ebparker who is the FS322 at SCS. Here are two more: This card is made with an image from Lynne Stansbery called Antique Ornament: Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Hugz!

Some Wise Words

I cased two cards on Splitcoast Stampers done by Lionsmane (she is the Featured stamper this week). She has a lovely gallery and I had a fun time playing in there getting inspiration. I cased a fun umbrella card using Cheryl Alger's Sam's Rainy Day image (this also reminds me the Squigglefly challenge this week is Lovely Liquids - use liquid in your image or on your image) and came up with this: Then I cased a lovely flower card by Lionsmane using a free image from Ikes' World and came up with this: The sentiment says: Youth is the gift of nature and age is the work of art. I am feeling my age this week for some reason - I think it all started the day that I went out of town and didn't bring my age reducing cream. Oh my gosh - that was scary! When I put my makeup on without the cream, I looked like the Criptkeeper (it was that momment that Lindsay Lohan had in Freaky Friday when she saw herself in the mirror and she was Jamie Lee Curtis - seriously!). Thin

A Bridge

The newest Squigglefly challenge (SFS 1313) is Lovely Liquids - use liquid in some way on your project. Some ideas: *Use an image with water, margaritas, chemistry beakers, etc. *Use a product that is liquid such as liquid pearls, glossy accents, alchol inks, etc. *Use a liquid technique like cracked glass, wrinkle-free distressing, etc. I used Lynne Stansbery's Park Bridge image for my card image, and I used the cracked glass technique but did not crack my "glass." I used a glitter ep and felt the cracked look might further mute the image. I added some Memory Box trees and Martha Stewar Hydrengeas to the scene. My sentiment is from SU!, and it was selected because I am sending this card to a wonderful artist who really does inspire me. Let liquid inspire you too - we would love you to join the challenge. Happy Monday and many Hugz!
