A Dilly Beans Easter

I am a huge fan of Dilly Beans images - they are so playful and fun. This week's Dilly Beans challenge is Easter so I made my last two Easter cards with Dilly Beans images. For the first one, I used this card by this week's Queen for the Day (Sharon aka SMadson, QFTD158) as my inspiration. I used her basic layout, used a lot of purple, and used a floral background. I cropped the Dilly Beans' image Amalia and Laylah #403 down to just Amalia's head and framed her for the first card. I overdid the liquid pearls a bit, but I like the outcome. On the next card, I openned up an arrow shape in Word and dropped in a bunny image that Megan gave away free on the store blog a couple of years ago. Inside it says: "lOvEs yOu! ME, ME, ME, ME, ME!!!!! The challenge runs until Thursday night. Today represents a very magical moment in the Universe - one I sink to my knees in grattitude for because I need this gift desperately! After I finish cooking my turkeys and mak

A Masculine Easter Card and some Gluttony

This card is for two challenges: IC382 on Splitcoast Stampers and Pattie's Creations Blog - Challenge #64 Easter . On SCS, the inspiration site is called Eglantyne Shop - click here to see my inspiration picture. I used a lovely sewing box as my inspiration for the coloring on the basket and for the fun embees at the bottom. At Pattie's Creations, the theme is Easter; there were no rules about having to use a traditional Easter image so I felt free to use this super fun fishing image that I received in a past PC challenge (it is one of my favorites). It has been so long since I was able to do these two challenges, and I had to wake up this morning at 5:00 to have time. I felt like I was visiting old friends. Yay for three day weekends! This card is the Easter Card I am giving my sweet husband. I am going to tuck a Bass Pro Shop Gift card inside. He deserves it for all the errands he ran yesterday to help us finish up the wedding invitations for sweet Crystal. If

A Designer Coffee Cup and a Cupcake

The current Fresh Brewed Blog challenge is paper piecing or accordian fold. I needed to make some thank you cards that held some Starbucks gift cards so I selected one of my fav Fresh Brewed Designs images and paper-pieced some fun SU! designer paper (I think it is retired now unfortunately). Happy Good Friday to all! Hugz!

Sympathy Cards

My sweet friend Marisa is on the JUGS DT and always does the cutest cards so this week I decided to play along. The challenge starts with some beautiful pictures and some fun colors - here is this week's inspiration board: This last week has been a bit sad - I have needed three Sympathy cards. This one is for a woman who works in another division of Rheem - she was in a car wreck a week ago and lost a small child. I can't think of too many things that are sadder than that. I wanted to keep it simple and delicate. I am entering this in the JUGS challenge - JUGS181 . Here is another Sympathy card I made this week. This is for a sweet friend at work that lost her Mother - another very sad thing. So I wanted to ended this on a happier note. These two individuals are definitely destined for Heaven - what can be happier than that. While they may be missed here - they are already fulfilling their destiny and experiencing a joy we can't even begin to imagine. W

A Happy Little Sad Card

This card doesn't look like a happy card, but it really is - I promise. I did this one for the newest Squigglefly challenge - March to the Beat of Your Own Drum (SFC 1213)- an anything goes challenge. Last week there was no winner, so this week the winner gets two prizes - how fun is that! So back to my card looking kind of sad but falling into the happy category - the tag pulls out and has a happy faced balloon which I covered in Stickles. I typed the sentiment and it says: "In the words of Scarlet, tomorrow is another day." Inside I am including a new balloon. I can't wait to send this cute card to someone. The image is a new one from Cheryl Alger that will be available in the store next week called "Who Burst Your Balloon." It comes with several images and sentiments. Hope your balloons are all still full and flying high - if not, I hope you have some spares! Hugz!

A Onesie

This week's Squigglefly challenge is "Face the Music" where we are inspired to make a card that depicts a song. Bet you can't guess my song -LOL! I used a Robin Willis image called Bad to the Bone which is also my inspirational song. Who doesn't know a baby this fits this card to a T! I love musical challenges and hope you will join us. If you want to be inspired by a new Squigglefly image, the store is still having its March Sale and you can get 15% if you use the code Spring15. We got most of the invitations done this weekend with a little help from my friends (yay). Now we just have to get the RSVP cards done. I am so looking forward to seeing my sweet Crystal walk down the isle! Hope you all have a wonderful week. Hugz to all!

A Bunny and Some Flowers

This week's Squigglefly challenge (#10 SFC1013) is "Spring Is Near ." I always think of yellow flowers and bunnies when I think of Spring. Isn't this bunny cute? It is called Funky Bunny and is drawn by Cheryl Alger. Hope you will join us in this fun challenge - it isn't even our team's week but I had to play. I am SOOOOO ready for Spring. I also wanted to share a few of the flower arrangements I made for Crystal's wedding shower this weekend. Let me know if you see something I can change because this is out of my comfort zone BIG TIME! >

An Umbrella

We have needed an Umbrella more days than I can remember this year. I guess I shouldn't be complaining as we needed it. So about my card. My DD, Crystal, had a wedding shower this past weekend given by some lovely ladies from her fiance's family. They did an awesome job. Everything was wonderful! In the middle of the room, they had a pretty clear umbrella hanging from the ceiling with beautiful decorations inside. It covered the punch table. Crystal asked me to make some thank you cards for the hostesses so I decided to go with umbrellas. The image is by Cheryl Alger and is called Sam's Rainy Day . It is available at Squigglefly. I love the look on her face - so sweet. The papers on my card are from the Lacey Grace stack by Glitz and from SU!. I love the wild green animal print - it is so Crystal (of course she also asked me to make all the thank you cards - I think I am making them in my sleep)! Hugz to all - hope your week is going well! If you have so
