My Beautiful Balloon!

This week's MFP SpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge is all about Hot Air balloons. I used the MFP Hot Air Balloons mini set. I used Brushos which are my new favorite color medium. Just swiped the cardstock with water, sprinkled on the Brushos in three different colors and heat set. Then I stamped the image, added some liquid pearls, and stapled on the sentiment. Quick, easy, and super fun. Hope you will join us in the challenge! Hugz

A Big Heart and an Angel

Card done for this week's Color Challenge on SCS. The colors are Crumb Cake, Real Red and Early Espresso. This is my last GDT card - sniff, sniff. Unfortunately, I needed a special Sympathy card. One of the high level managers at work lost is young son in a horrible car accident last week. Wow - does that not hurt your heart? His son loved music and was very gifted musically so I added a little music note and an angel blowing her horn. Wow makes me tear up just typing this. I had to do some altering to make my paper and embees match the colors from the challenge. I changed one of the bg panels, the little cog at the top of the heart and my brown banner a darker brown with water colors and ink. I changed my seam binding color by soaking it in crumb cake reinker, and I sponged real red ink on my red banner to hide some yellow and orange that was also on it. I hand cut my heart from a leftover box. Hope your week is going well. Hugz to you!

Some Cards Made in the Last Few Weeks

This one was made with Sandra Caldwell's Santa and His Birdie image (if you like it, you better get to Squigglefly this week before they close down and get it). I colored him with watercolor pencils. Done for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers this weekend. The Inspiration site was the blog: From the Tool Shed . I watercolored my dogwood with diluted Brushos (my new favorite medium). Another card inspired by From the Tool Shed and using Brushos (undiluted). Fun to make! I used an ODBD sentiment and some little things from my stash (including the bg paper). This was for last week's color challenge at SCS. The new one is announced tonight and it will be my last time as a guest designer (sniff, sniff). For last week's technique challenge at SCS. Vicki from Stamp Smiles inspired me to use an old SU! set (Natural Beauty). I had fun with this one as my daughter Crystal helped me. Done for the Queen for the Day Challenge - casing Kiagc (Kia) -

A Zentangle Flower

The Inspiration Challenge at MFP SpeedyTV this week is Zentangle. The inspiration photos are really awesome. For my card, I used the MFP Medallion set (image and one of the sentiments). I doodled inside the flower and bit outside too. I sprayed the paper with Luminarte Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist and added a decorative brad from SU! Hope you will join us in this week's challenge. Hugz

Snow Much Fun!

This week's Squigglefly Challenge is "Snow Much Fun." The idea is to use snow in some way on your creation. I used Skating Angel by Sandra Caldwell . She is at the tip of a pond or skating rink and I added some Snowtex so she could be in snow storm. My sentiment is computer generated. My idea here was to show that when we are out on the ice (maybe even some thin ice) in the middle of the storms of life, we may just need to slow down a bit and let our Guardian Angel catch up with us. I colored this one with regular SU! markers because I was being really lazy and they were the first coloring medium I could find in my totally disorganized craft room. I printed the image twice so I could pop up her wings. I love this new image by Sandra. Hope you will join in the Snow Much Fun Challenge at Squigglefly. Hugz

Barn Inspired Card

This week's MFP SpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge is all about some old barns: I was inspired by them all but mainly barn 2 and 3. I used the MFP Java Time set and Medallion set. Hope you will join in this fun challenge! Hugz

Some Yummy Colors

The color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers has some gorgeous colors again! Basic Gray, Strawberry Slush, and Bermuda Bay. I would never has put these colors together but I love them together! I just painted on some water on my SU! Naturals paper. I just wet my big brush a lot and slopped it on in a trail. Then I just dabbed in bits of the colors from my $9.99 watercolor set. They swirled together and then I stood up the paper and shook it so some of the paint would drip down. I love how it came out. After I dried that with my heat tool. I flecked some of the leftover paint on to the paper since it needed something. I then put all the leftover color on some aluminum foil, spritzed a little ,and smashed a scrap of paper on it. I die cut my butterfly out of that paper. The sentiment is out of the SU! Word Play set and stamped in Archival Ink (Watering Can). So quick and easy! Hugz

A Shabby Chic Christmas Card

The MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge has started back and this week we are inspired by Shabby Chic Bedrooms: After seeing these pictures, I want to redo my bedroom! I love them all, but I was inspired by the third one - all that lace and the pink really captured my imagination. I used the Create with Pine Boughs set (still my favorite MFP stamp set ever). Hugz!!!

Shabby Chic Flowers

My Mom's birthday is Saturday so this this week's color challenge on SCS was the perfect inspiration for a card. The colors are Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry, and Mossy Meadow (Bride in the Berry Meadow). I was lucky enough to get asked to be a guest designer for this challenge during January. How fun is that!!! A made a couple of the flowers using a IO rolled flower die and my flourish is from Cheery Lynn. The rest are all flowers I got from Wild Orchid. I went a little overboard on the cheesecloth but it seemed to work. Happy Tuesday!!! Stay warm. Hugz

A Valentine!

The first Squigglefly challenge of the year is Glitter or Sparkle (to ring in the New Year). I decided to make a Valentine's card since I will need quite a few of them. I used some gold glitter paper for my heart and added some more sparkle with some Stickles. My image is called Loving Lion King by Sandra Caldwell and it is one of the new images at Squigglefly. Hope your holidays were wonderful - I missed you all. Hugz

I'M BACK!

I haven't posted since the middle of December and I hope I haven't lost all my wonderful blogging buddies. We had a super busy December - one full of tragedy, disappointment, and illness, but also full of love, blessings, and amazing things. Sometimes life is just plain scary, and just when you are scared to pick up the phone or go outside, God shows you life can still be wonderful. I hope your holidays were full of blessings and love! I promise to get around and see what you have been up to during this week. Here are a few cards I made in the last few weeks: Many hugz!!! Happy 2015 too!
