A Few Fun Cards/Pages

I had a chance to play around a bit this weekend - it was so nice! I made this card for the MIX challenge on SCS where participants were to use some type of packaging on their card or as a tool to make their card. I used the packaging from a Prima flowers package for the smaller flowers, sprigs and leaves (I painted them a bit with water colors and glittered them up but you can still see the writing on some of them). I colored all my papers with water colors and glitter. I also have been trying out different card designs to make at work for a rewards craft day. The workshop will have lots of men so I wanted to come up with a card that would be interesting for them. This one will not be the one as I won't have a die cut machine. I used the Inspiration Challenge at SCS as my inspiration for this one: The Queen for the Day challenge at SCS was ReginaBD and I cased her fun scrapbook page HERE . I only have about 19 more pages or Allie's Freshman scrapbook! Lastly, I...

A Little Wedding Shower Card

the Just Us Girls Challenge #247 just had the best inspirational photo and I needed a card for my niece Carrie Jo's wedding shower today. I love that inspiration room - what a great way to make a small space really amazing! Here is what I came up with (I promise my middle panel is teal - it is rainy outside and it messed with my colors) using a rub on design, a Prima butterfly, a chipboard frame, a chevron EF, and a lot of distressing of mainly scrap pieces from the scrap bucket: Hugz!!!!

Topiaries

This week's MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge is Ladders: Here is my card: I used the MFP stamp set Columns and Topiaries . Before I forget, I was inspired to use this sketch by the wonderful sketches used by my blog buddy Nic. Check out her blog HERE and you will be in love with her fun sketches too! Hope you will join us. Hugz!

Some Folksy Patriotic Cards

The Squigglefly challenge this week is One Layered Cards. I have three types of cards that trip me up: One Layered Cards, No line coloring, and anything requiring measurements like step cards and the like. But I bit the bullet and used the fun Old Maid Americana image by Sandra Caldwell. Sandra is a new artist at Squigglefly and her fun patriotic and folksy images are wonderful. I also took the same image and cropped it down to just the magic star wand and framed it up using a circle frame in Microsoft Word. Fun stuff - hope you can find some time this week and join in the challenge. Hugz!

Doors

Doors. I love doors although you would never guess it right now as my front door seriously needs a make-over! In the MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration challenge , Shirley has found some really great doors to inspire us: The third door inspired me: I used the MFP Calendar Set to make my flowers and my address plate and my sentiment is from Ivy and Blossoms . The dies I used are the Tim Holtz Cabinet die and a window die from Poppystamps. Hugz!

Special Thoughts

It's time to see what fun inspiration pictures Shirley found for this week's MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge : I picked that cute little critter with the daisies on her head. I used the MFP sets Calendar and Pretty Pears (a new set). Hope you feel inspired by this cute pictures and join our challenge. Hugz!

Christmas Flowers

It is Christmas in June at Squigglefly - time to get a jump on or little dent in your Christmas card stash. I have only done a few Christmas cards this year so I was glad to have this inspiration: I used Elizabeta Kushner's Christmas Poinsettia image and Charlene Mitchell's Merry Christmas Set Sentiment. Hugz!

Peace and Happiness

One of my New Years Resolutions was to participate in more MFPSpeedyTV challenges so I can support the other MFP designers, learn from some talented people, and get to know the other designers a bit more. It is also a great way to use my images in new ways. So I picked the Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge #215 and it is to make an Oriental Card - not a style I am comfortable with but I gave it a try. I used the MFP Lanterns and Work of Art sets. You have to check out the pretty cards done by the DT - Amazing work girls! Hope everyone has a wonderful week - I am getting a bit scared about mine - just made coffee and forgot to put the carafe back in - coffee went everywhere and I had to spend 20 minutes cleaning up the mess. Oh well, could have been worse and it gave me an excuse to clean the coffee maker really well - LOL! Hugz!

Weekend Creations

I had a little extra time this weekend so of course I made some cards. My friend Nancy (stiz2003 on SCS) was selected at the Queen for the day so I cased a few of her cards ( Here and Here are her cards): I used the free stamp set that comes with the Simply Cards and Papercrafts magazine - what a great stamp set by Indigo Blu. I colored this with Faded Jeans TH Distress Ink. This cute little Mo's Digital Pencil image called Bobbin is so precious. I colored this with watercolors and sewed it around the edges with my sewing machine. I loved the image so much, I cased the Featured Stamper at SCS today (Elaine - Happy Heart on SCS) and made another card (I cased her card HERE ): Hope you had time to play this weekend too! Hugz!

Moon Shot Inspired Card

This week's MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge is all about the Moon: Here is my card: I used the MFP Tree Frogs set. I used water colors for the image and the background trying to capture the gorgeous colors in that last Moon Shot Shirley found. Hope these pictures inspire you and come play with us in the Inspiration Challenge! Hugz!

A Little Ballerina

Today I have a little sneak peak at an image coming to the Squigglefly store this weekend - it is Ballet by James Horvath. I just love this man's images! They so remind me of all the fun in Saturday cartoons - especially in the 1960s and 1970s! James puts so much expression in his faces. So glad to get another birthday card done - I am so behind on birthday cards this year. Hugz!

Spooky Bouquet

I am getting this in the Haunted Design House Challenge in the nick of time as it ends in a few hours. The challenge is #189 Ripped to Ribbons with no Sissy Stuff. At first glance, this may look a bit Sissy but all my fabric and ribbon in my bouquet are from our trip this weekend. We went to visit family and stopped by to visit a few graves. I saw some ribbons and bits of silk flowers laying around that were frayed and ripped and perfect for this challenge. So see my flowers are not sissy at all! LOL! Hope you had a great weekend. Hugz!
