Alabama High Tea and Some Art

Some of my crafty friends/family thought we would celebrate the August birthdays with some High Tea this past weekend.  Of course, we live in Alabama so it is probably a lot more Alabama High Tea than English High Tea, but it was lovely, delicious, and super fun.  Even my Uncle  sat with us and asked when we could do it again.  High compliment for sure.  We had scones and marmalade, passion fruit lemonde tea, chicken salad mini-croisants, pimento cheese mini-sandwiches, cucumber circles, fruit, mini lemon cheesecakes, and  candied figs on crackers with cream cheese.  Key lime cake was our nod to the birthdays nnd was made with fresh limes (it was yummy).  This is my ticket to the T-day Party over at Elizabeth's blog where she is sharing an invitation she received to a more traditional High Tea.  I wasn't super productive this last week as I was still mending from the strep throat and ear infections, but I did get a bit of art done. Tea, Big Cats, The Grinch, and a Christmas Wreath

It is T-day over at Elizabeth's Blog so here I am sharing a recent drink.  This is my hot tea at the local Japanese Habachi Restaurant where we celebrated my oldest Grandson turning 8.  This was actually his 3rd or 4th get-together for his birthday.  If he wasn't such an wonderful kid, he would be horribly obnoxious with all the spoiling he gets. It was his third or fourth cake too.  I ordered Oolong as I was kind of feeling a little under the weather and thought it might help.  It did.  We had a wonderful time.  I ended up coming down with strep throat and a double ear infection so last week was a lot of laying on the couch for me.  I did bnge watched some Harry Potter and all the episodes of 1883.  Elsa may be one of my favorite characters of all time. I hope there really were young women with that open of a heart and that strong a spirit. I could listen to that actress read her thoughful words all day long.   I did feel a tiny b...

Cake Cake Baby

It is Anything Goes over at the House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge with the option of Funny.  Don't you love this Vintage Eat Your Cake and Nap Too? I colored up the yummy cake and cute mouse with Daniel Smith Watercolors and a bit of Gold Stickles.  Then I fussy cut the image and popped it up on this printed background lightly sponged with Rusty Hinge Disress Ink.   Then...I was craving cake so much I made some. LOL.

Vanilla Porter, Haunted Places, and Back To School Fun

Happy T-day!  Especially to the T-day gang over at Elizabeth's Blog where we all share a drink related picture/post.  I am starting this post off with one of my last drinks on our Georgia trip.  This picture was taken in the Airbnb we stayed near Savannah.  It was on hte Isle of Hope and it was right across the street from Wormsloe Plantation (seriously - we could just walk over to it and could see it out our windows.  The tree lined streets were amazing!  My drink is a vanilla porter from Breckenridge Brewery out of Colorado.  I was hoping for a good local one, but they didn't have any that I knew I would love AND I knew I would love this one.  It was wonderful.  Have you ever had it Erika? I looked up the brewery and I would love to go there.  I especially wanted to go there after seeing their website which is VERY fun.  I espeically liked this ad for a  fun event they sponsor.  What a cool name - I think is a band but ...
