Glenda - Good or Bad?

The Octopode Friday Challenge (#34) invites us all to a Fancy Dress Party. If you are interested in the challenge click here. You should check out the design team creations if you don't do anything else - they are incrediably fun and soo different!

I used Glenda the Good Witch - actually, it depends on whether or not you are a fan of the Original Wizard of Oz or Wicked. I love them both, so I went with good and bad. I used some unknown dp on my card (possibly old SU! but I am not sure) and SU! Cardstock. A glittery photo corner, some Stickles, some borrowed Copics, and Glenda came to life! I am on a crafting retreat with 21 other women, and we are having a blast up here in the mountains.

My room-mate Patty fell in love with the Octopodes too (another convert), so she wanted to make a card too. She went with a softer Glenda and the second card is hers. She used some Creative Memories dp, some borrowed Copic Markers, and lots and lots of Stickles. I wasn't sure Patty would want to do a darker Glenda, but when we were done, she said she wished she had gone with the darker side.

I wish you could see some of the talent at this retreat. We have a Creative Memories demonstrator, a SU! demonstrator, and a Close To My Heart demostrator. There are probably 15 Cricuts in the room, a couple of Wishblades, and even a Zing. We have enough supplies to open at least 3 craft stores.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend as well! Hugz to all.

  5. Two outstanding creations, I'd say. Now, about the orginal Wizard of Oz. I hated it! I think I'm the only person in the world that did. Still hate it. Couldn't stand all that music. Isn't that strange coming from me? :-0
Sounds as if you had a fun time at the retreat....and plenty to work with.

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....
