My Allie


I wanted to show you all the two sides of my youngest daugher Allie. I know this isn't what is on my kitchen counter right now, but she was just standing by the counter a few minutes ago eating some chinese noodle salad. This is how she looks when she is mudriding or hunting. She is not afraid to get dirty. Actually, she is kind of afraid of it, but she is proud that she still does it because she is tough (sort of anyway). This picture is 2 years old, but I love to drag it out and think about how dirty she was that day and how different she looks when she is playing around versus dressing up. This mud day wasn't even the worst day. The worst day was Thanksgiving when she decided to go mud riding at my Aunt and Uncles' house behind our property. They have streams running through their property and lots of goats so you can imagine how bad that was. No time for the camera that day, in fact, we ended up throwing her clothes away it was so bad.

The next picture is Allie all cleaned up for a dance.
She went with a friend because she had broken up with her boyfriend several weeks before. She looked so pretty, and he was so sweet!

I will have to get some updated pictures of my oldest daughter to share with you soon so you can see how pretty she is too.

I just looked at a friend's blog and she shared some personal pictures; I really liked seeing that little glimpse into her life so I thought I would share Allie's dance pictures from a couple of weeks ago with you too.

    These pictures are absolutely fabulous. It's always nice to see two sides of a person. Allie is a beautiful girl and looks to be an "All American Girl" and you can't get better than that. Blue is definitely her color. Thanks for sharing.

    Nancy, Allie is gorgeous! Look at those beautiful eyes. I know you're so proud of her. Her friend looks mighty handsome, too. What a beautiful dress and color. She even looks great in mud! :-)

    OMG...what great pictures! You daughter is GORGEOUS! Such a pretty smile! I too love seeing personal pictures on blogs now and again, it is a nice way to get to "know" your blogger friends better.

    Your Allie is a complete doll, Nancy!! What a beauty! And I loved seeing both sides. Sounds like you are a lucky mama to have such a sweet daughter. Can't wait to see the photos of your oldest daughter, too!

    I have an Allie too. Your Allie looks like a fun, happy girl like mine and she is so pretty too. Her dress looks gorgeous and i love the colour. I too think it's nice to share a little of yourself and family.

    OMGosh, Allie is STUNNING, Nancy! You must just feel so proud looking at this girl, who loves to get dirty as well as dress up. She's gorgeous. Please tell her I said so. :) Glad you shared a pic of *your* daughter!

    I was over on Splitcoast and I didn't know you had a blog - it's really fantastic. Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous - and is much prettier than many models I've seen - and she's quite photogenic - muddy and as Cinderella! Kathy/101Airborne

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. Forest Goodies and Other Projects

 Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

 I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....
