The newest Can You Digi It? Challenge is a bit different. Instead of a picture collage to inspire us, Michelle has us looking deep within ourselves to find inspiration. You need to go to the CYDI? blog and see her beautiful Phoenix inspiration and read her story.
Luckily, I have risen up from several tragedies in my life. My first draft of this included ALL the gory details, but I realized this isn't about every one knowing the details - this is about successfully rising above the details. It is about getting up from the punches and moving on down the road of life - hopefully a bit stronger and wiser. I thought about all those punches when I was creating this card. They hurt, but I was still able to get back up and eventually continue down the road. Some days I just lay on that road and cry, some days I have to crawl on my hands and knees, some days I run and jump, and some days I get to meander down it like this butterfly. If it wasn't for my faith, my family, and my friends keeping that little ember burning, I would never have been able to rise up from the ashes.
Other than my card base and the glitter on the butterfly, my card is made entirely with items from the Can You Digi It? store: Green Godess Road Trippin' Paper Pack (has the coolest papers in it) and the Delightfully Distressing Butterfly from the Butterfly Bliss set. I layered the various papers digitally to save paper, time, and ink (I love doing that).

Lovely card with a very peaceful feel to it. I'm so glad to hear that you have come out of tragic situations with such a wonderful outlook. I believe that in order to live a fulfilled live we much try to look for the best part of something and not concentrate on the worse part.

ReplyDeleteOMGosh this is so beautiful and I love the colors and the great design. Life can be very trying, I'm not sure if it builds character or if it just makes us weary and tired, lol. Love this.

ReplyDeleteSuch a powerful combination of images! We're all getting through life at different rates of speed, even though we sometimes feel we're going backwards! For me, it has always been about the journey and making the most of it as we go :)
