Squigglefly Fever

Fun, fun, fun. I am one of the newest Squigglefly DT members - how fun is that! I have always loved the place with all the zillions of image choices.

This past week someone sent me an email that had some precious pictures of older people having fun and one of the sayings was: "put a twinkle in your wrinkle." I vowed to make a card with that saying the minute I read it. I found this unbelievably fun Lynne Stansbery Image called Smile Pretty. Used some glossy accents on those glasses. This card so makes me smile!

I also made a card for last week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS - the challenge was to do a card with Harley's or Americana or both. I used the American Pie image by Cheryl Alger. I stretched the pie out to make the star look more even but it looks so much more fun when it is a mile high like it was drawn.

The card is going in the mail to someone who needs a bit of encouragement due to some serious health issues. Inside it says:"and chocolate, key lime, lemon, pecan, chocolate pecan, pumpkin, cherry cream cheese, sweet potato, or any other kind of pie you like!"

Hope you all had a great weekend and that this week is full of many blessings!

Hugz!

  14. Oh my gosh, Nancy, like you are running on all cylinders here! - Congrats on the Squigglefly DT - you have so many wonderful and off the wall ideas - I am always so pleasantly surprised by your wonderful cards.

The older gent is the perfect subject for this sentiment you found and I love how you framed him out - the Americana card from last week's teaparty I missed, sad to say, but it is Americana and tradition at its best, for sure! Love the checkered and red and blue BG and your rusty star is a great embellishment! A very sweet card to lift someone's spirits!! Sending lots of hugs - yes, I finally made it here!!

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!
It's time for the New Release Blog Hop at Dude Time Doodles ! I am thrilled to show off Elmer Elf - just one of the four new images. I love them all and plan to make Christmas cards with every single one of them. Be sure and pick them up soon in the store if you like them because all the Dude Time Doodles Images will be retiring in the next few weeks - sniff, sniff! If you came to my blog from Sharon's amazing blog you can continue on to Mags who has another wonderful creation to show you. Dude Time Doodles blog hops are easy as you can hop on at any point and just continue around. Be sure and leave comments because one of the DT members is the mystery host/hostess and one of the commenters on their blog will win free images from the store. Hugz!!

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....
