Fun, fun, fun. I am one of the newest Squigglefly DT members - how fun is that! I have always loved the place with all the zillions of image choices.
This past week someone sent me an email that had some precious pictures of older people having fun and one of the sayings was: "put a twinkle in your wrinkle." I vowed to make a card with that saying the minute I read it. I found this unbelievably fun Lynne Stansbery Image called Smile Pretty. Used some glossy accents on those glasses. This card so makes me smile!
I also made a card for last week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS - the challenge was to do a card with Harley's or Americana or both. I used the American Pie image by Cheryl Alger. I stretched the pie out to make the star look more even but it looks so much more fun when it is a mile high like it was drawn.
The card is going in the mail to someone who needs a bit of encouragement due to some serious health issues. Inside it says:"and chocolate, key lime, lemon, pecan, chocolate pecan, pumpkin, cherry cream cheese, sweet potato, or any other kind of pie you like!"
Hope you all had a great weekend and that this week is full of many blessings!
Hugz!

I see you have some good new to share, too. A BIG congrats on your new DT position. You'll wow them, that's for sure.
So wonderful to have you join our happy Squigglefly family! I know what you create will always be wonderful such as the two great cards today! The sentiments for both are perfect and I might have to CAS!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new dt! How exciting! I can't wait to see what all you do with all their images - you're off to a fantastic start. Love both of these cards and the sentiments on each. The pie one should definitely cheer up your friend.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you are on the Squigglefly team. What fun. Yikes, does Kenny know you have a man on your kitchen counter today? :) I love this card, it is cute and you have colored it wonderfully. I like the pie card, too, I will take a piece of each flavor, please.
ReplyDeleteNancy your cards are wonderful! I really love the sentiment you used the Smile Pretty image - it's perfect and makes me smile! The glossy accents on the glasses is great too. Super coloring! Your pie card is such a great choice for the teaparty recipient! I love what you put on the inside of the card too. Everyone at Squigglefly is so thrilled to have you join us!
ReplyDeleteSuch great cards, Nancy! I love the first because he is so funny! And the second for that fab layout and use of papers!

Oh my gosh, Nancy, like you are running on all cylinders here! - Congrats on the Squigglefly DT - you have so many wonderful and off the wall ideas - I am always so pleasantly surprised by your wonderful cards.
ReplyDeleteThe older gent is the perfect subject for this sentiment you found and I love how you framed him out - the Americana card from last week's teaparty I missed, sad to say, but it is Americana and tradition at its best, for sure! Love the checkered and red and blue BG and your rusty star is a great embellishment! A very sweet card to lift someone's spirits!! Sending lots of hugs - yes, I finally made it here!!
Look at you, Miss Squigglefly! Congrats! These images are different and interesting. Love the old dude and the way you've framed him.
ReplyDeleteHey, congrats on the DT!! Looking forward to seeing what you do :)
ReplyDeletelove both cards - the sentiment goes perfectly with the image on the first one and the American feel to the second card is fabulous!
