A Special Thank-you Card

This week's Squigglefly Challenge is "Just Around the Corner" (SFC 2113). I used a corner rounder on my house (you can't really see it that well but I rounded three of the house's corners) and I used a Spellbinder's Die that has rounded corners. My image is from Squigglefly and is designed by Cheryl Alger (Just Be Yourself).

I needed to make a Thank-You card for my daughter to give to a very special person who gave her a very special hand-made wedding present. I tried to add as many layers as I could as I love mega-multi-layered cards but rarely do them as hubby chokes when he mails them.

Everyone has a corner rounder of some kind so grab a Squigglefly image (remember there are free ones in the store) and come join in the fun (and have a chance to win a Squigglefly image as well).

Happy Memorial Day Hugz to all.

  16. Wow, look at this. How fun is that. Does this have 122,000 layers....I think you might be giving me some competition in the layer department....lol I thought I was the only one single- handedly trying to keep the Post Office afloat. As a matter of fact, they were going to do away with Saturday deliveries but when I threaten not to send any more cards through the mail, they axed that idea pretty quickly....lol I just have to stay away from International Mail. When I sent a card to Canada this year and it cost me almost $7 well they had to have the post master pick me up off the floor when I fainted and it cause and unwanted scene in the post office. The older lady that patted my hand when I was coming too said "Young Lady $7 isn't so bad, I paid $70 to send two boxes of Cornflakes and a package of socks to my son in Australia". Yeah, well the $70 story is a true one-you can't get certain cereal we have here in the US in Australia....lol

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Wise Words for Life's Storms

My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops). The words were stamped with black ink from Close to My Heart. Hugz, Nancy
