Some Fun Cards


This week's Sassy Cheryl challenge is "Outdoor Fun and Games." I used this great Sassy Cheryl image which is only $1 in the store right now. I also used a cool card shape called the Layered Window Frame - HERE is the tutorial if you want to check it out.


I made this card for a friend at work who just lost her Grandmother. For my inspiration, I used THIS card by Sabrina (Cook22 on SCS). Sabrina is one of the Queens being revisited on the Queen for the Day challenge at SCS.



This card is my case of Sue (coffeestamper on SCS) who is also one of the Queens being revisited on . Sue loves caffeine so I couldn't resist doing a coffee card. HERE is Sue's card I cased.

Can you tell I woke up at 5:00 this morning? My friend Jill shared THIS great video this week and I am passing it on - you need to watch it and if you have seen it, you need to watch it again. It cracks me up every time I think about it!

    Five a.m. is too early, girl. Although, I was awake by 6:30 a.m. or before.

    What super cards! I love the window frame on your first card and the one honoring Sabrina is just beautiful. Yep, that caffeine is coffeestamper Sue for sure. Great houndstooth. She uses it quite often, too.

    Yep, that's me to a tee!!! Thank you for sharing that video-I laughed all the way through it. Now I know to blame my addiction on "YouTube". My husband is as much to blame because he is my enabler. That man asks me every week if I want to go to Michael's. Who am I to say no!!!! Last weekend he took me to Michael's, JoAnn's, and Hobby Lobby in one day!!! Oh my goodness that gave me an attitude adjustment this morning. Exactly what I need to put my big girl pants on and get me to work...lol Love that window frame card. I pinned it to my tutorials as I want to do that in the future. Your sympathy card is so elegant-love that embossing. Cute coffee card as well-love the paper.

    Nancy your cards are always inspiring. I love the work you put in to them. Never too much, always just enough to say "classy". The little Sassy gal is just beautiful. She looks like a picture of a little "Pawleys Island" girl. Love it.

    All of these are amazing. Love your take on the layered window frame (so much better than the original). The second one is a fabulous monochromatic card and LOVE that background (is it a stamp or embossing folder?). And the color combo on the coffee card is a great combination.

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

A Covered Bridge, a Shotgun Wedding, Patton Wisdom, and Some Art

 On our recent vaction, hubby and I got back to our historical marker seeking.  This time we visited the Clarkson Covered Bridge. It is super long and very cool.  We also found a website HERE that has a mapped out tour of Alabama where you can visit 7 in one day - a fun trip for a Fall weekend.  This is the only picture I took of the bridge. The day before, we visited the Patton Musuem at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and viewed Ft. Knox from as close as they will let you get. They say there is still a ton of gold in Ft. Knox - trillions of dollars worth.  We liked the Patton Museum.  I don't agree with most of Patton's management style, but do respect that he accomplished much.  I was impressed with some of his leadership statements like this one which I totally agree with: They have some fabulous items at the museum - hubby could have looked for hours and hours if I had let him. They have planes, tanks, and other vehicles there too so you can see exactly what ...
