A Card Inspired by Darling Dogs

I know that every Thursday I say, "Wow, look at the really great or really cute pictures Shirley found for the MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge!" Well, I am saying it once again! Here they are: Here is my card inspired by the first doggie: I used MFP's Huge Blooms and new Medallion sets. I drug my stamp pad across my Kitchen Counter (shhh....don't tell Kenny)and then I sprayed it with some glitter mist and dipped my flower in it repeatedly until it was all colored. This is my favorite way to color images. I covered the center of one of the layers with gold micro beads. Hope you are having a good week and staying warm. Hugz!

A Sparkly Tag

It is me again - I had some time to play today so I checked out a few challenges at found some much needed inspiration. This is what happened: In the making of this tag I was inspired by the following: Retro Sketch #103 - A Tag Sketch Pile It On #8 - Thinking of You Paper Pretties Challenge - Ribbon Crafty Ribbons Challenge #77 - Ribbon 4 Crafty Chicks #182 - Things With Wings Papertake Weekly Challenge - Lovely Layers I used several dies (Impression Obsession Fence and Bow, Whimsy Stamps small doily, MFT rolled rose), papers from SU!, some silver glittery stuff from a Christmas pick, a honeycomb stencil from The Crafters Workshop, a butterfly I purchased at a convention (no name on the bag), some SU! ribbon, and a SU! Thinking of You stamp. My tag base is some corrugated cardboard from a box that I painted whited and trimmed in grey. Hope you had a wonderful weekend! I got to go on two dates with hubby, spent some quality time with my sweet daughters, read a book, los...

Some Forgotten Cards

Two posts in one day is unusual for me, but this week flew by and I neglected to post some cards I made so I am catching up. Yesterday, my oldest daughter co-hosted a wedding shower for one of her best friends. It was a kitchen shower and she had found THIS fun card on Pinterest for me to case. Here is our version: At the scrapbook retreat I went to last weekend I made this fun card casing THIS card by addINKtive designs : She used SU! digital punches - I so want to get them! I just used Word playing around with the shapes. I also used the free word bubbles available at Squigglefly HERE . I made this card for the MMTPT Teapot Tuesday Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. It is going to my friend Carol's Mother. I made it with an image by Lynne Stansbery called I miss you and is available at Squigglefly. Lastly, I made this card a few weeks ago but forgot to post it. It was my back up Valentines Day card for Kenny, but I gave it to a friend since I didn't use ...

A New Scrapbook Started

My youngest daughter, Alex, is in her Freshman Year at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She joined a sorority and does so many fun things that I wanted to capture the moments in a scrapbook for her. I am doing the whole scrapbook in kraft, red, black and white with a few other colors mixed in. All base pages are kraft and the cover is done in burlap with handmade burlap and red flowers. Here are a few of the pages I have done for the album: On the first page, I used the text cloud and songbird image by Dawn Collins (available from Squigglefly) - it is one of my favorite images of all time. Alex loved that I put UAB and AOII in the little hearts. I can't wait to finish this scrapbook - I have 150 more fun pictures and still two more months of school (including Spring Break) to go. For inspiration, I have been doing the Scrapbook challenges on Splitcoast Stampers - they are so fun! You can find them HERE . Hugz!

Surf Board Inspired Card

It is that time of the week when we are inspired by the incredibly fun pictures Shirley finds us for the MFPSpeedy TV Inspiration Challenge . Here are the latest treasures she has found for challenge #51 - Surf Boards: These are some awfully fun and very inspiring pictures. I was inspired by the first surfboard and here is my creation: I used the MFP Medallion Set which is one of very favorite sets with the very cool image you can layer and the fun sentiments. Inside my card I used the Hugs sentiment from the set but it also has some other very positive sayings such as "Love ya,"I am here for you," and "Think Happy Thoughts." The papers I used on the Medallion were Real Red and Summer Sun from SU! but they didn't match my Basic Grey dp very well so I toned them down with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink and a sponge. I added a gem in the middle, some Red Stickles, and some fun arrow gems from Close to My Heart. Hope you are inspired by these pictures ...

A Cute Old Man and Some Christmas Lights

Yes, today a cute old man and some Christmas lights are on my kitchen counter. You just never know what is going to be on my counter. Sometimes real people sit on my counter but today it is an adorable, but fictional, old man drawn by Lynne Stansbery and available at Squigglefly (it is called Smile Pretty). I paired him up with a sentiment by Charlene Mitchell called You Light Up My Life . I made this for the latest Squigglefly Challenge (SFC07-14) - Use both a digital image and digital sentiment on your card or other creation . My easel card is made with a Spellbinders die, The Paper Studio CS, and dp by Creative Inspirations. The string of lights was used on a card over three years ago and were purchased at Michaels but I don't know the producing company. I gave this card to my parents with some boxes of Girl Scout Cookies and they loved it. Hope you will join us in the challenge - remember there are some really cute freebie images at Squigglefly if you don't have...

Hugs

This week's MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge (#50) is Surf City Woodies . At first I thought Shirley had pictures of wooden surfboards as I had no idea what a Woodie happened to be. Thankfully she posted some great pictures: How cool are these? Here is my card - I was inspired by colors and all the curves in the Woodies although after seeing the pictures in a different size and lighting, I see that I was a bit off on my purpley-pink. I used the new Medallion stamp set (love the image and the sentiments in this new set). Hope you will come play too! Hugz!

Some Calorie-Free Candy

Valentines is just around the corner so I am excited the challenge at Pattie's Creations is to use in your image and I could get another Valentine's Card done. I used Pattie's Heart Candy Box image and tried to add elements that could give the feel of a candy box like gold and ribbon. My supplies: dies - Spellbinders(frame and leaves), Sizzix (corners) and MFT (rolled roses); papers - SU!, Recollections, The Paper Studio; ribbon - SU!; and the gems are The Paper Studio. Come join in the fun for the next two weeks - how easy is challenge where there guidelines are to use red! Hugz!

Beach Scenes

I am always so amazed at the fun pictures that Shirley finds for the MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge . This week she found some really pretty beach sunsets with little houses and huts that she calls Surf City: This challenge is super fun for me! The pictures always take me in some interesting directions. I purchased some Mudpuddles Malibu Beach sand and Sea Glass and I put them on tag I stamped with MFP's Holiday Tag set. I then sponged on some Time Holtz distress inks to mimic the beach skies in picture one and three (I sponged my base paper as well). Then I stamped a sentiment from the new Medallion set (sneak peak) and some grass I made with the leaf from Nature's Brushstrokes . Aren't you ready for beach weather? I found the coolest quote yesterday from Ginger's House . It says, "My swimsuit told me to go to the gym, but my sweatpants were like..., "Nah girl, you are good."" How funny is that! Let these pictures inspire you and co...

A Valentine's Cupcake

This week's Squigglefly Challenge is Pink and Red. I used a new image by Pamela Lehto called Celebration Cup Cake . You can make it work for any occasion but I typed in "Love You" so mine could be for Valentines. Ingredients: Flowers made with a Martha Steward Hydrangea Punch, papers from The Paper Studio and SU!, Dies from Spellbinders and SU!, gems and mini-clothes pins from HL, and twine from stash. Hugz!

What else? Cards, Of Course

While I have a craft room, I use it for storage as I love to craft on my kitchen counter. Lately my counter has been full of cards and crafting supplies. Luckily, I have a really sweet husband that never says a word about it unless he gets glitter on something he has set on it - LOL! Yesterday and this morning, I made a bunch of cards so my counter was covered. I am going to share a few of those cards, but first I wanted to share a baby card I made a few months ago: I had to wait to share it because it was part of a Squigglefly layout in Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine. Here is the full layout: They got my name right but they put Darlene Pavlick's picture instead of mine - they put her picture on her card too so it looks like we are twins. I didn't want to use my picture anyway - LOL. Darlene and I are Sister Squigglefly girls so it is all good! I can say I was published anyway! My card is made with a new image at Squigglefly by Carmen Gamble called SweetPea...
