Rainy Day Projects

The sun is finally out and it is 70 outside. Looks like it will be warmer than that all week so maybe around here we can say it is looking a lot like Spring. It has been rainy and windy for days so I am so glad. While it was raining the last few days, I did get some craft time. Made a few cards and a few scrapbook pages.

Today's Featured Stamper at SCS is Jean and I cased THIS card.

I love how this came out. I also did this card for the MIX challenge on SCS which is to use different tones of the same color. I used a Joy die to make the flowers and Tim Holtz Pealed Paint for my coloring.

I also cased my Punchkateer friend Diane who is the Queen for the Day this week at SCS. I cased THIS card.

I thought this card would also make a good scrapbook layout so I used it for Allie's Fight Song picture. I made a sister to it as well but didn't snap a picture.

The new CSI challenge #116 came out so I had to do a page following the clues/evidence/testimonies provided. I am so loving this challenge! You need to check it out if you do scrapbook pages.

This is Allie harassing her friend Dean about his chin. For some reason, I just love this picture. She gets back from Spring Break today - I haven't seen her in weeks and I miss her! She promised to come by on her way back to Birmingham so I made some Chicken Cordon Blu Casserole and biscuits (she loves homemade food when she comes by - LOL).

Hope your weekend was wonderful too. Hugz!

  2. This is a fabulous collection, I love the first card with the beautiful butterfly and flowers and lovely verse. You are so creative to turn a card layout into a scrapbook layout, I would never have thought to do that and I do love the background you have created for the second layout.
I hope you had a lovely dinner with Allie.

  3. Nancy that first card is phenomenal. Just gorgeous. I really like your second card with that pretty die piece. You are right that is the perfect backdrop for your "fight"page for Alli. It goes so well with their outfits. The last page just made me smile. Love all those little gems and individual sentiments. Well you mentioned you wanted a strawberry when you visited me and now I want some Chicken Cordon Blue Casserole. Yum! Actually we had Chicken Pot Pie tonight. Early dinner because my youngest, who is also an Alli, is here for a visit from D.C. and she had early plans for the night, so eat and fly. Have a fun week and a nice visit with Alli.

  9. Love the pictures of your daughter-how fun! I see you have been using the hydrangea die I made you purchase....lol See, I told you - you would get a lot of use from it. It's absolutely stunning, did you dip the die cuts in the peeled paint like we did the poinsettia? I am so jealous that you got a lot accomplished. I am so slow!!!

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....

Halloween Lunch Pictures and Some Art

Happy T-day! Our favorite local restaurant is Fox's Pizza Den where they have great pizza, sandwiches, pasta and salads. They also have a Bourbon Bar.  Prices range from $7 to almost $1,000 on the bourbon and bourbon drinks.   Each holiday, the bourbon bar comes up with fun holiday themed drinks and they decorate the bar too.  A few weeks ago, we headed there for lunch and to try one of the new drinks.  Here is the holiday drink menu and my tickets to T-day over at Elizabeth's Blog where we share our fun drink related items from the week.  Of course, my daughter loves vampire books and movies so she picked the blood bag. I go more for taste so I got the Meet Your Maker - it was wonderful.   We shared a pizza and a salad.  I forgot to take a picture of the pizza, but I did get one of the salad. It had grilled chicken and potato wedges - super fun.  They make their ranch dressing on site and it is wonderful.  My husband has been know...

Dreams of Fall, Numbers, and a Cool Drink

I hate to admit it, but I am already looking forward to Fall!  That is also the theme for this House Mouse card I finished up today. I stamped this 2009 Turning Over a New Leaf (Monica) image on the envelope too because the current House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #392 theme is decorate your envelope too.  On the card, I stamped the image, popped up some of the leaves and drew in some branches.  The background and leaves are watercolored with DOX ink.  Monica is colored with pencils and watercolor.   I sure wished it was Fall on Saturday when we were watching our youngest grandson at the 6U All Star State Championship. It was very hot. His team lost in the semi-finals. We were very proud of how hard they played. Speaking of baseball, I did two pages on our two All-Stars. I am linking them up to the Numbers theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* .  I have numbers in the journaling and there are numbers on their jerseys.   The All Stars cap ...
