Watercolor Creations

This week my kitchen counter has been covered in watercolor supplies and paper. I saw so many wonderful cards done by students in the Watercolor for CardMakers classes that I decided to sign up myself.

Here are my creations from classes 1-6 (I combined them into 3 cards). I had lots of attempts - but these are the only ones I am willing to share - LOL! I love, love, love the classes and encourage you to take them if you get a chance.

Class 1&2 - Watercolor backgrounds:

I used watercolor paints and a Prima stencil on this one. I learned that a smaller brush is not a good idea when doing color washes.

Class 3&4 - Watercolor Stamping

I learned not to keep stamping when everything is wet but I still like how it came out.

Class 5&6 - Watercoloring Stamped Images

I used SU! Fabulous Florets images and Tim Holtz Distress Inks - I really like how this came out. I watercolored my rolled roses too.

Fun stuff - hope you are having a fab weekend!

Hugz!

  9. These are beautiful, I love them all but the little scene through the window has to be my favourite. I have joined a couple of these online classes, they are brilliant - I especially enjoyed the CAS ones.

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!
It's time for the New Release Blog Hop at Dude Time Doodles ! I am thrilled to show off Elmer Elf - just one of the four new images. I love them all and plan to make Christmas cards with every single one of them. Be sure and pick them up soon in the store if you like them because all the Dude Time Doodles Images will be retiring in the next few weeks - sniff, sniff! If you came to my blog from Sharon's amazing blog you can continue on to Mags who has another wonderful creation to show you. Dude Time Doodles blog hops are easy as you can hop on at any point and just continue around. Be sure and leave comments because one of the DT members is the mystery host/hostess and one of the commenters on their blog will win free images from the store. Hugz!!

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....
