Some Halloween Cards

Did a few last minute Halloween cards this weekend - I need to get them in the mail - these will be the only ones I am mailing this year.
 
 
This card is for the Outlawz Paper A La Mode Challenge - this week it is all about Halloween.  The sponsor is A Day for Daisies. I was unfamiliar with this company until this challenge and I have to say that I love their whimsical images.  This is Little Witch on Fence and she was so easy to color up.  I colored the fence, the cats, and a few parts of her outfit and then I sponged on some super Halloween colored Distress inks.  Added a few doodles and some white gel pen - didn't take long at all!
 
 

This card was done for the Splitcoast Stampers Inspiration challenge.  My inspiration was a tiny ghost charm.  Can you find my little shy ghost?



My images are from DRS Designs - Silhouette Majestic Pines and Silhouette Grave Yard.  Sponged the whole thing with Memento black and TH Distress Victorian Velvet.  Added in some SU! Dazzling details.  Super fast card with no coloring.

    Both cards are fabulous! I love that adorable image on the first, and the colors on the 2nd are fantastic! I love the tiny graveyard with those majestic trees! Great Halloween cards!

    Both are wonderful! Love the shading on both cards. Really make them scream Halloween and fun. I did spot that little ghost too!

    Love both of these cards. That first image is fabulous and looks like it was fun to color. The second one is beautiful with your glittered clouds against that gorgeous sky. I did find the ghost, but I had to look twice before I spotted it. Old eye I guess!!! Enjoy the evening.

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

A Covered Bridge, a Shotgun Wedding, Patton Wisdom, and Some Art

 On our recent vaction, hubby and I got back to our historical marker seeking.  This time we visited the Clarkson Covered Bridge. It is super long and very cool.  We also found a website HERE that has a mapped out tour of Alabama where you can visit 7 in one day - a fun trip for a Fall weekend.  This is the only picture I took of the bridge. The day before, we visited the Patton Musuem at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and viewed Ft. Knox from as close as they will let you get. They say there is still a ton of gold in Ft. Knox - trillions of dollars worth.  We liked the Patton Museum.  I don't agree with most of Patton's management style, but do respect that he accomplished much.  I was impressed with some of his leadership statements like this one which I totally agree with: They have some fabulous items at the museum - hubby could have looked for hours and hours if I had let him.
