Back after another long absence. So glad you dropped by. I am still crafting, working, junking, and hanging out with family - especially those three cute Grandsons of mine.
I have been doing a lot of Bible Journaling. It seems to help me focus on what is important in life, and I always feel so refreshed and relaxed after doing a page.
Here are a few of my favorite pages:
Don't you love Squirt? After watching Finding Dory a million times in last 6 months, I have come to really like the scene he is in. He seemed to fit this lovely section of Psalm 124:1-5.
If it has not been for the Lord who was on our side,
Let Israel now say -
"If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,
When men rose up against us,
Then they would have swallowed us alive.
When their wrath was kindled against us:
Then the water would have overwhelmed us,
The stream would have gone over our soul;
Then the swollen waters
Would have gone over our soul."
A wonderful tribute to the Lord and how He saves us in so many ways. Without Him, our souls would be lost. Kind of reminds me of when the turtles help Dory and friends get to California.
I drew squirt with a black ink pen using some still scenes from the movie as guides. I colored him up with colored pencils.
On these "Angel" wings, I drew out a bunch of feathers, cut them out, and wrote on some scripture from Psalm 97. This chapter is about praising the Lord and has wonderful lines such as in verse 6:
"the Heavens declare His righteousness, and all the peoples see His glory." I also love verses 10-12: "You who love the lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart. Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name."
Such lovely verses, they provide much comfort to me.
Hope life is treating you well. Many hugz

Oh, Nancy, I LOVE your journaling, and I find journaling to be so helpful. I don't do artwork, but I do write with pencil in my Bible and also have a binder that has a section where I journal each day about something that God speaks to me about. I love the special portions of the Scripture you've shared today. They are such great truths...the LORD has rescued us and continues to lift us up each and every day...praise God for His mercies are new every morning...great is His faithfulness! So glad you've been enjoying those precious grandsons...they are a joy! Hugs and love, precious friend!
ReplyDeleteFabulous journaling Nancy, I'm so pleased that you find it both refreshing and relaxing.
