Fun with a Coffee Cup!

Happy New Year friends.

DRS Designs has a fun new Paper Coffee Cup image and I have had some fun playing with it this past week!  For my first card, I made some paper bacon and eggs using water color paints, several layers of gel medium, paper and a heat gun.  I used a brush to splatter on some real coffee in the bg and added the fun new paper coffee cup and part of the Hugs, Kisses Valentine Wishes Greeting.

On my second card, I used two of the paper coffee cup images, added the new Coffee and Friends Greeting, and added some little playful critters:  "Shell"don The Turtle and the new Love Bug.

My last card is super easy.  I just made another coffee cup and did the bg with an embossing folder and a ton of Snowtex.  I was trying to express that coffee is warm when the weather is super cold outside:  Warm versus Cold.

Hope you are all staying warm.  It is even freezing in Central Alabama and that is saying something.  I can't complain because it will mean less bugs the rest of the year.

    Absolutely Amazing textured designs for all 3 of your gorgeous mixed media cards, Nancy! Your bacon and eggs look good enough to eat. Love all your critters. Especially Love your hot and cold design on your 3rd card. Wow!! Happy New Year my friend. Hugs...

    You are hereafter and forever dubbed The Queen of Texture, Nancy! I am blown away by these cards! If you haven't done a video or step-by-step of making those bacon and eggs, you should! And you're telling me it SMELLS like coffee, too??!! I've never seen anything that realistic on a card!! The critter card, of course, stole my heart, and the warm v. cold, especially right now, is a textural treat!! Happy New Year! Hugs, Darnell

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

 Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow).
