Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  The Lady in Blue switches between fo

A Brew, Birthday Party Snacks, My Great Grannie's Belt Buckle, and Some More ATCs!

It is Tuesday and time for a drink inspired post along with the T-day gang at Elizabeth's blog.   I have a fun drink related card to share.  DRS Designs came out with this fun new Brew'tiful Day Greeting this week, and I couldn't resist playing with it.  Happy T-day to all of you! I did a lot of overtime this past week but did get a few fun things fit in such as my middle grandson's 6th Birthday party.  It was lego themed so we decided to do a lego charcuterie tray and include things for the kids and the adults.  I did a fun video for Tik Tok but no pictures of the full board....I did get two pictures of part of the board.   Here you can see the Cajun Crab dip, the Havarti and the Chipolti Cheddar along with some of the fun sweets and lego pieces. Here you can see the turkey pepperoni (my family loves it) and the orange peel and cranberry goat cheese along with some other fun goodies. I also fit in another art journal page for Wendy's Vintage theme at Art Journal

A bit of Spookiness, a Vintage Art Journal Page, and a Good Book

Hello friends, Another fun Halloween card to share - all images are from DRS Designs (all 5 of them) - you can read a bit more about the card on the DRS Designs Blog .  I also have an Art Journal page to share - it was inspired by Wendy's Vintage theme at Art Journal Journey .   The bottom layer is a page about the world's tallest mountain out of an old vintage World Atlas book.  The main panel is old tea advertisement that my brother-in-law gave me.  He bought an old scrapbook full of old soap and tea advertisements - they were all glued in and most were damaged. I did some crackle medium  through a stencil on the top and bottom and added a few flowers from Stamping Up! that I dipped in some ink.  The words are Tim Holtz: "forever is composed of nows" - so true.  The other little faint stamping on the base page is done with Stamping Up! images as well.  Thanks for the inspiration Wendy! After mentioning it earlier this week here an on Facebook, I have had several pe

An Expresso Martini, a Fun and Helpful Book, and a Juicy Halloween Card

Hello Friends! Special cheers to the T-day gang who meet every week at Elizabeth's Blog, Altered Book Lover.   This was my first and last Expresso Martini.  It looked better than it tasted.   We were toasting my daughter Crystal's 31st birthday (she is on the right).  Their drinks were off to the side.  Allie had a chai-tini and Cystal had water.  She said she was saving her calories for a slice of chocolate cake.  We had a lovely time.   I read a great book this past week.  It was written by Fredrik Backman, and called  Anxious People . The ending totally surprised me, and I loved the book - every twist and turn and there were a lot of them.  All along the way, there are words of wisdom for anyone who has questioned their decision-making, parenting, life-choices, success, plans, and/or general sanity.  I definitely see why our small library has three copies -  everyone should read this book. I felt better about life after reading it.  Here is my card for the week - all images

T is for Try it on Tuesday, Tuna Noodle Casserole, Tall Bottles of Pumpkin Ale, and a (Ghost) Town

Hello friends. Posting ny card first so if you are visiting from Try It on Tuesday - Book Pages - you can skip the rest of my post if you want to.   This card was actually a case of THIS pretty card by Shirl who happens to be this week's Featured Stamper at SCS. I used torn book and music pages to make the main panel. The sentiment is from IO and one of my favorites.  This is going to a friend of mine who lost her mother recently.   Happy T-Day to the T-Day Gang at Elizabeth's  Blog: Altered Book Lover .  We celebrate drinks of all kinds every Tuesday (you can post on Monday since it is probably Tuesday somewhere in the world)  I am sharing some Pumpkin Ales we drank last night.  This one was an Imperial Pumpkin Ale.  It is seasoned with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves ad allspice.  Yum! There was a pumpkin coffee flavored ale too.  They were fabulous and I love the bottles.  Thanks to my sweet daughter, Allie, for bringing them over.   This weekend, I got to have lunch with
