Halloween Lunch Pictures and Some Art

Happy T-day!

Our favorite local restaurant is Fox's Pizza Den where they have great pizza, sandwiches, pasta and salads. They also have a Bourbon Bar.  Prices range from $7 to almost $1,000 on the bourbon and bourbon drinks.  

Each holiday, the bourbon bar comes up with fun holiday themed drinks and they decorate the bar too.  A few weeks ago, we headed there for lunch and to try one of the new drinks.  Here is the holiday drink menu and my tickets to T-day over at Elizabeth's Blog where we share our fun drink related items from the week. 

Of course, my daughter loves vampire books and movies so she picked the blood bag.
I go more for taste so I got the Meet Your Maker - it was wonderful.  
We shared a pizza and a salad.  I forgot to take a picture of the pizza, but I did get one of the salad. It had grilled chicken and potato wedges - super fun.  They make their ranch dressing on site and it is wonderful.  My husband has been known to drink it so it could actually be my ticket to T-day - lol.

Here is a picture of one of the alcohol walls (they have 2 and also a large bourbon safe as well).  You can see the bartender getting something for one of the patrons. There are little skulls hanging from the ladder too. 
It was a fun outing.  I may go back in a few weeks for my birthday - before they take down the Halloween items and stop playing all the fun Halloween songs. 

I also have some art to share.  This first one was done for last week's watercolor challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com.  The technique was to make birch trees using a credit card and some liquid watercolor paint. 
This next one is a case of THIS fab card done by Micheline Jourdain.  I added extra images, different trees, a different sentiment, some Stickles, and I drew my horizon and road.

    What a fun place. I thought Blood Bag was just the name of the drink and not the vessel it was served in! Too funny! The body bag on the antlers was funny, too. Happy T Day

    Hi Nancy, I was trying to choose which one I would have from the menu but then I saw the actual blood bag and yes it would have to be that one! That would be a fun place to visit, hope you can get back there for your birthday while all the Halloween decor is still up. $1000 bourbon really? wow!     Those drinks have the best names. It is so fun that the blood bag even comes in a bag. How fun is that. And your food looks yummy. Your cards are beautiful. I really like the trees in the snow.     Your christmas cards are very sweet. The bar is impressive - but a Bourbon drink for almost $1,000? That's a bit much, but the prices on that drink menu are good. I would have chosen the Blood Bag or Meet you Maker as well - that last one actually looks really good. Happy T day!

    Your birch tree card is gorgeous! It looks like the real thing.
    Halloween always brings out some interesting decor. I don't celebrate it myself but those that get into it, really get into it. I am not sure I could bring myself to drink out of a blood bag. haha. Looks like you had a fun outing with your family.

    Oops, dear Deb, I don't think I want to spend $1,000 on bourbon... That would be the biggest scare for me, much bigger than anything scary Halloweeny ;-) But with a Meet your Maker for $9 I could be there, sounds like good ingredients and looks great. By the way, the Bloodbag that your beautiful daughter drinks is very funny.
    The art you show is also very beautiful - I am particularly impressed by the credit card birch trees :-D

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

A Covered Bridge, a Shotgun Wedding, Patton Wisdom, and Some Art

 On our recent vaction, hubby and I got back to our historical marker seeking.  This time we visited the Clarkson Covered Bridge. It is super long and very cool.  We also found a website HERE that has a mapped out tour of Alabama where you can visit 7 in one day - a fun trip for a Fall weekend.  This is the only picture I took of the bridge. The day before, we visited the Patton Musuem at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and viewed Ft. Knox from as close as they will let you get. They say there is still a ton of gold in Ft. Knox - trillions of dollars worth.  We liked the Patton Museum.  I don't agree with most of Patton's management style, but do respect that he accomplished much.  I was impressed with some of his leadership statements like this one which I totally agree with: They have some fabulous items at the museum - hubby could have looked for hours and hours if I had let him.
