T is for Thursday and for Catching Up with Friends

 I miss my T-Day friends so I am jumping in to say hello. 

HELLO - T-DAY FRIENDS!

It is Thursday instead of Tuesday, but I have been running about two days behind for a few months now - lol - but seriously.  I used to laugh at people who said they were retired and had less time now, but I am so understanding them now. Work took up 10 -11 hours a day, 5 days a week, but it basically was a standing "No" to so many things.  Now I can do all those things (or at least some of them).  Fun but exhausting.

I am still using my Sweet Home Alabama mug for morning coffee. Today, I am toasting all the T-day girls who meet up at Elizabeth's Blog and share a drink related post. 

I am creating more since I retired - still making cards, but I am painting more of them or at least part of them. I won't bore you with a ton of them (I really have been doing a ton of them but trying to send most out so I don't fill my house with them - lol).

This one is a card for a challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com (SCS) involving flying. I did watch a tutorial on YouTube. 

This one was all me - my bird creation and my handwriting in the background over a paper rubbed on a stencil with watercolor crayons.  A SCS technique challenge.  

I did this one to send to a sweet lady facing some serious health mountains - I tried to paint her dog.  I used two tutorials for this one. 
My daughter asked me to draw her house.  She lives in a 100-year-old house in the downtown area of her town where she can walk to a bunch of fun restaurants and bars, the library, and the farmer's market (it is right next door).  I did it fast and will try to do a better one soon.

    Congrats on retirement Nancy. Isn't it great? I was like you, laughing at retired people saying they have all this time too.     Your host is even later than you for T. I was so glad to read your beautiful post, too. I love that mug and now have that song in my head.

    Your cards are stunning. I absolutely LOVE each of them. You draw and paint so well. You and Sharon never make the same two cards. I am truly impressed. Thanks for sharing your mug and cards with us for T this week, dear. I hope to see you more often in the future.

Unopened Mail And My Grocery List

We arrived back from our Las Vegas trip last night so the only thing on my Kitchen Counter is unopened mail and my grocery list.  I have looked up the recipes for most the great food we ate (or wish we ate) in Las Vegas including Bacon Waffles and Chicken and Waffles - so my counter top should look awesome tomorrow (or as soon as I get a waffle maker).  We had lots of fun in Las Vegas but not as much as Crystal and Joey.  If we were still 21 we would have had a blast!  No luck with gambling - but I only gained 1 pound which is a miracle!

Christmas Mice

Hello Crafty Friends, Today, I am playing in some fun challenges with this cute card: The current House-Mouse &Friends Monday Challenge HMFMC #461 is Anything Goes with an optional theme of Pastels. I have some pastel paper in my layers. This card was made with ornaments from a SU! set, a cut up sentiment from RedLead Paperworks, and three mice I cut out of the Spellbinders Sew Sweet stamp set. The background was inspired by Jeanne Streiff's MIX challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com last Friday where she asked us to make a background using a die cut as a stencil.

T is For 10 Years of T-Day, Too much food, and The Art (Always the Art)

Hello Friends. Most of today's post is about celebrating 10 years of Elizabeth hosting T-day parties on her blog .  If you have visited me before, you know that I regularily participate in T-day where we all post something about a drink of any type (the drink can be anything including water and the post can be a real drink, words, movies, art, etc.) on Tuesday (or Monday lol) and link it to Elizabeth's T-day blog post for the week.   This year Elizabeth is asking us to post several things in celebration of the big anniversary.   #1.   Post a picture of something that makes the number 10. I used 10 art supplies that were near me.  I am starting to make more Christmas cards so these were right at hand.  #2.   Post our regular T-day picture/post.  My drink picture today is a lunch we had in Tybee Island last week during our Georgia trip.  We ate at Pier 16 .  Great food and service.
