Back in the 1980's (wow, that was hard to type! LOL), I was on a Hot Air Balloon Team traveling around New Mexico and Colorado. It was one of the most exciting things I have ever done. I have some really scary stories of near misses, crashes, and very scary moments, but I also have some stories of peaceful moments way above the normal world, faith, and pure joy! Amazingly, the serious peace story and my best crash story are the same. Ever have those moments in your life where you feel God standing right there with you?
So now you know why I chose to make my Summer Time Fun card with the Pattie's Creations Hot Air Balloon Ride image.
Grab your favorite Summer Time Image and join us in the latest Pattie's Creations Design Challenge Summer Time Fun Challenge (PCDC70).
I am also entering this in the Twisted Sisters Challenge on SCS - this week Tater has the girls (or boys if they are interested) doing cards about things that "lift us up" (TSC0621 are the key words for the challenge if you want to join in it). HERE is the link to the gallery if you want to see the wonderful cards that are already in the gallery - they are wonderful!
Hope you are having plenty of fun this summer!
Oh wow what an awesome unique experience you must have had and not to speak of being a brave lady as well. Love your card and the cloud effects.

Amazing talents you are hiding! Fabulous card, love the clouds!
ReplyDeleteWow Nancy this is fabulous! Love the design and your clouds are amazing! I've always wanted to go up on a hot air balloon and one of the most amazing sites I've seen is the balloon festival in Albuquerque when they all go up at the same time.
ReplyDeleteNancy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! Pattieboop and Allie look like they are having so much fun floating around the clouds! This makes me want to go to an event like this...

I can only imagine the stories you could tell from that special memory - great idea to see this sweet image popped up TWICE - love the dimension and excitement it brings to your card. Sounds like you had a very peaceful and marvelous time!! BIG HUGZZZZZ!
ReplyDeleteNancy - I love reading of your travels with a hot air balloon team. I think I would be scared to try something like that, since I would have to rely on the skills of someone other than myself, LOL! We do have a yearly Hot Air Balloon Festival in Readington, NJ, which is in Warren County. I went to it many years ago, but had to park so far away, that we never got close enough to see one up close!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, great pattern in the balloon itself, and you get the illusion of it being far away in the sky. Great job!

This looks fabulous! Love the patterned balloon against those great clouds!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome time you must have had being in a hot air balloon team!! I've been lucky enough to have had several different types of flying experiences but haven't been in a balloon - yet :)
Great card for both challenges! What an exciting time you must have had...My hubby would love that and it's on his wish list to go up in a hot air balloon. Me, not so much. I guess I'm too big of a coward! smile. I also made a card for Tater's Twisted sister challenge, but I didn't realize till she commented on my card that I goofed...I used PINK on my card!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Nancy, I can just picture you in those hot air balloons. You sound like you love an adventure. Great card with pretty clouds and balloon.
ReplyDeleteUp up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon. Must have been exciting to be on a Hot Air Balloon team. Sounds like it was both fun and scary. Your card is fantastic. I love the way you did the clouds. They look so pretty.
