Some Forgotten Cards

Two posts in one day is unusual for me, but this week flew by and I neglected to post some cards I made so I am catching up.

Yesterday, my oldest daughter co-hosted a wedding shower for one of her best friends. It was a kitchen shower and she had found THIS fun card on Pinterest for me to case. Here is our version:



At the scrapbook retreat I went to last weekend I made this fun card casing THIS card by addINKtive designs:



She used SU! digital punches - I so want to get them! I just used Word playing around with the shapes. I also used the free word bubbles available at Squigglefly HERE.


I made this card for the MMTPT Teapot Tuesday Challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. It is going to my friend Carol's Mother. I made it with an image by Lynne Stansbery called I miss you and is available at Squigglefly.



Lastly, I made this card a few weeks ago but forgot to post it. It was my back up Valentines Day card for Kenny, but I gave it to a friend since I didn't use it. It is made with a new image by Carmen Gamble called 58 Impala. I had an Impala in 1989 and loved it, but this version here was the very first one.

    Wonderful cards, Nancy. What a cool impala! I love your card for Carol's mom..it is just precious. The apron card is super with all the utensils. I guess the digital punch was the stitching on your card. Super!

    Oh, I love all of these! Each one is so different but so cool. (Have you seen the new die set from MFT Stamps called Smartphone? Your 2nd card reminds me of that and it has word bubbles and a coordinating stamp set too. Just call me an enabler LOL).

    Okay, Nancy, this post requires four WOW's WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW! I love them all. The apron card is so adorable and just perfect for a shower card, The phone card cute! And the image by Lynn, just fabulous as always and you put it together so nicely. The last card brings back memories for me...we lost count how many Chev's we had through the years.

    This is a fabulous selection of cards Nancy, they are all gorgeous but I do especially Iove the last one - as you probably know, I'm rather partial to male cards.

    What a great variety of cards! I love them all. I especially think the flags and that way too perfect and cute stop light are the best embellishments I've ever seen on a card! The pink and black texting card is really cute too.

    Love the cards, Nancy! Don't you hate it when you give a card away and realize you forgot to take a photo of it? Glad you took pictures before sending. They're all nice, but the kitchen shower card is awesome, and I love the Impala card as well with its lights and flags..really super cute!

    How chickie cool all your cards are Nancy. The apron is super cute-I love that you kept with the shower theme. The little kitty face will just melt your heart, pink and black are a dynamic combination, and the car is super classic for a guy. Fantastic work.

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

A Covered Bridge, a Shotgun Wedding, Patton Wisdom, and Some Art

 On our recent vaction, hubby and I got back to our historical marker seeking.  This time we visited the Clarkson Covered Bridge. It is super long and very cool.  We also found a website HERE that has a mapped out tour of Alabama where you can visit 7 in one day - a fun trip for a Fall weekend.  This is the only picture I took of the bridge. The day before, we visited the Patton Musuem at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and viewed Ft. Knox from as close as they will let you get. They say there is still a ton of gold in Ft. Knox - trillions of dollars worth.  We liked the Patton Museum.  I don't agree with most of Patton's management style, but do respect that he accomplished much.  I was impressed with some of his leadership statements like this one which I totally agree with: They have some fabulous items at the museum - hubby could have looked for hours and hours if I had let him.
