I have seen some very Beautiful Backgrounds in the DRS Designs Challenge this past week!  My favorite is still Karin's background made with lettuce - check it out on the link to the challenge.  Since there is one more day of the challenge, I thought I would play along again (you still have time today but I think it ends at 6:00).  I made my background using some distress inks swiped on a mat, a spritz of water, and then a smash of the paper unto the mixture.

I used the new Love Birds Branch (413H) (it works perfectly for an anniversary card) and I paired it with the Medium Script Anniversary Sentiment (784E) and the Single birdhouse (406D) stamps.  Inside I did a similar bg, cut a circle of plain white paper, and stamped the love you to the moon sentiment.

Hubby and I actually were married twice.  We planned a wedding in Gatlinburg in June, but we wanted to go on a trip together before then.  Our preacher encouraged us too get married first to cut down on rumors and such so we got married during church services in April. We had already planned Gatlinburg so we did that one too, and we celebrate two anniversaries each year.  Fun stuff.

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Wise Words for Life's Storms

My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops). The words were stamped with black ink from Close to My Heart. Hugz, Nancy

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....
