Coffee, Beer, and Art (a Little Coffee Art Too)

Funny how little things can make us happy, right?

I always smile when one of the T-day gang shares a coffee picture with  lovely foam art - I am always a bit jealous as well.  I finally found a place around here that does it too!  This was a honey latte at Prevail. They also carry fun beers so I grabbed one to try later.
I had high hopes for this beer with it being Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Vanilla, and Coffee flavored.  It was a bit too bitter for me. I do love the can and the name.

My little country grocery store started carrying one of my favorite stouts so, of course, I bought some.
It was wonderful - especially with some chocolate!  Linking up to the T-Day Party at Elizabeth's blog where we all share drink related pictures, art, movies, etc. (Elizabeth is sharing tea pot art  today if you are interested in visiting).

The rest of the week, I will be dieting!

I did get a little crafting in this weekend.  I made us a calendar to remember when the baseball games are and where they are located.  Our grandsons play baseball in different cities and often on the same night so we have to split up.  It was getting a bit confusing so I thought I would make us something a bit more visual.  It has helped.

All my images are from DRS Designs.

Also a card.

I needed to make a bunch of thank you cards for work and I made several versions of the above card using an old and inked up embossing folder. (using distress ink sprized with water).  The jar is from Red Lead Paperworks and the flowers are Close To My Heart (words are Stamping Up!).

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!

Hugz,

Nancy

  2. You find the "coolest" beers!!! I am a wee bit jealous I can only look on and not share with you!
Peanut Butter we have - and beer, too! (We only know what to do with the second!)

    Love your calndar page.

I should follow your example with the cards (but then I´m the only woman - do men appreciate this?)

    Happy T-Day and hugz

    1. The men I work with do, Iris, but I have to make sure the cards are more masculine than the one here. You have wonderful beers in Germany that we can only dream of here!

  3. Foam art is great to look at, but the coffee gets cold while the art is being made, so I like to drink it plain! Hot espresso is my thing, and not all barristas have mastered it.

  5. I like peanut butter beers. I haven't tried these, but they have great names. And I bet they were good. Isn't it funny how peanut butter doesn't sound like a good beer addition and it is. I am also loving your card. Sounds like a good week Nancy. Enjoy your T day and week ahead. Hugs-Erika

  10. Very nice cup of coffee. However, the beer is fabulous. Where do you find them? We have one store that has different kinds of beer but not like these. Have a lovely day.

    1. Nicole, I find them in weird places. The first one is from a coffee shop 30 miles from home on the second from our local grocery way out in the middle of no where (the owner loves interesting beer and wine so we are lucky). You should speak to the store owner and see if they are willing to be adventurous.....

I have never heard of peanut butter beer. That sounds, well, interesting.
Your calendar is fabulous and looks like the perfect solution for a visual reminder.
    Happy Tea Day,

  13. Lovely card, Nancy, and your calendar is fun. I am not a beer drinker, but Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Vanilla, flavored beer? I might be tempted to taste it, but since you already did, and didn't think it wonderful, I guess I won't have to taste it! Happy T Day.

  14. I've never had one of those cups of beautiful coffee. I have only seen them in photos. Glad you got to experience the event and photograph it, too.

I LOVE STOUT, and that white stout sounds incredible. I want some, too!! I have never heard a Porter called a stout before. Stouts have always used barley and I am sure that Porters use malt. Regardless, I hope you like both of these drinks, Nancy. They are both absolutely perfect for T this Tuesday, too.

Your calendar is very visual and I like that. Your card is quite lovely, too. Most impressive.

  15. Amazing what people can do with some cream in the coffee. I don't care for beer, but the cans and names are fun. Very cool to make the calendar so you can make the baseball games. Your greeting cards are always delightful. Happy T Day

  17. Your beers do sound tasty, maybe if you add some lemonade to the bitter one and make it into a shandy it might take the edge off the bitterness. Love your card, that jar stamp is a good one. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day.  The paper in the middle is from the Stamperia Forest

Brotherhood Wishes, a Paper Purse, and a Special Mug

Hello friends. No more fun travel or parade pictures - back to every day normal life.  On a positive note, I have been able to fit in some art. Hereis an art journal spread I finished this weekend. I am adding it to Alison's Summer Landscape challenge theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* .   I started the pages in my journal around July 4th after seeing Dina's stripes inspired Mixed Media challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com and got as far as stamping some foliage at the bottom.  I was stuck after that, and I wasn't sure where to go with it next.  A few days later, I was clearing out some things in the craft room and ran across a Thomas Kinkade book I cut up and use in my Bible Journaling.  There was a picture of  the San Francisco Bridge and another of some mountains so I tore them out and added them to my page with Gesso representing some of the beautiful things in America and also Alison's countryside theme.  They did not blend in very well and I needed to alter them to wo

A Martini, Peanut Butter Cupakes, and Art

Hello Friends. Today, I have an ecletic mix of drinks, dessert, and art. First, it's T-day somewhere in the world so time for a drink post which I am linking to Elizabeth's Blog - Altered Book Lover.  Last week we had a work related dinner.  When the waitress asked what I wanted to drink, I had a sudden craving for a martini.  I use to love them, but I guess my tastes have changed because I wasn't a fan.  I was a fan of the chips and dips though! And the day before, I brought my Sister's fabulous peanut butter cupcakes.  Mainly because I was craving them and couldn't ask her to make just one..... Over at **Art*Journal*Journey* Elle picked a theme of Books, Cats, and Tea (you can pick one, two or three of the items).  I did a Bible Journal Page in my Journaling Bible - Luke 13:24-25.  After a layer of Gesso, I took a Sharpie pen and drew the kitty, then the narrow door, and then colored the door with Arteza Brush pens. The verse was written with a Micron pen.  This
