Fall Is Here! Mummy Cups, Pumpkin Beer, Pumpkin Spice Creamer, and Some Art

Yay! We had the first few stirrings of fall yesterday.  Don't get me wrong, it was still hot enough for heat stroke here in Central Alabma, but we felt a few breezes and the mornings were tolerable.  I have been waiting for this since May!  Looks like we may actually have a day or two in the 70s this week. Praise the Lord!

To celebrate I bought this super fun Mummy cup at the grocery store yesterday.  Isn't it adorable?  I have a mummy loving grandson that is going to flip over this.

I bought myself a few fun fall items at the grocery store too.  Pumpkin ale and pumpkin spice creamer.
These are my tickets to Elizabeth's T-day party where we share some drink related fun every week (everyone is welcome - you just need something about drinks in your post - can even be one of your favorite movies with a drink of any kind in it).  Happy T-day friends!

In celebration of fall, I also painted up this lovely card.  I followed THIS fabulous tutorial on YouTube.
After an early morning peewee football game, I spent Saturday with my Sister and Aunt where we crafted, laughed, and caught up with each other. I got a head start on some ATCs I am doing for a swap at Splitcoaststampers.com.  I painted this fun gnome  - watercolor and white acrylic paint. Isn't he adorable?
Hope you have a lovely week!

Hugz,

Nancy

  3. Oh pumpkin beer. I haven't bought any yet, but it is time, isn't it? I can tell I am further north because our days have been in the 60's. Summer is definitely gone from NH. Your mummy cup is too fun also. But really Nancy, you can paint. What wonderful images you created on your cards. Happy T day, and enjoy your fall pumpkin. hugs-Erika

  8. Hi Nancy!
Oh, we have much cooler weather in Austria - it's below 70 degrees Fahrenheit (20.1 degrees Celsius) in our house, which we find a bit cold / uncomfortable, but we want to save heating energy this year because we don't know if we will get through the winter ("thanks" to Putin's war and the lack of gas)... and outside the temperatures are usually around 13 to 14° C (ie 55-57° F) and it rains on many days . I think it's the rainiest September here in many years. But it's okay, we also had a rather dry summer (not as dry as you guys in Alabama, of course).
The mummy cup is the burner! :-DDD I think you're already in Halloween mode ;-)
Your autumn card and the gnome are charming!
    Hugs and happy T Day,
    Traude

  10. Your fall card is so beautiful and I also like the little gnome, so cute. I'm sure your grandson will love that mummy cup, how much fun is that! I'm not so sure about pumpkin beer though, I love pumpkin in pumpkin bread and occasionally a pumpkin spice latte, but that's about it. When I went to my grocery store this morning, there was pumpkin-something everywhere - a bit too much for me, but then I don't have to buy it. Happy T day, Nancy.

  15. What a fun and charming post, Nancy. I LOVE that mug. It is hilarious. A bit quirky and a bit jolly.

It's pumpkin time at the grocery stores. I haven't seen the pumpkin creamer yet, but I'm sure it won't be long. I stopped at a Whole Foods for the first time last week and was met with all kinds of gourds and pumpkins before I ever got into the store!

Your card is stunning. It is beautiful. I really like your gnome ATC, too. I'm sure the recipient will adore it.

Thanks for sharing your lovely card and ATC, as well as your pumpkin inspired and related drinks with us, as well as your mug, for T this Tuesday, dear Nancy.

  18. What a lovely cup. Why is it called a mummy cup? Wow your painted card is amazing! And the gnome is cute too.
I recognize the brand Coffeemate, but I've never seen pumpkin flavour. (we don't have that in Europe, at least of all the countries I have traveled in, I have never seen it).
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca

  20. Halloween just keeps getting more and more elaborate! Witches, pumpkins (carved or not), pumpkin spice (with or without the actual pumpkin), ghosts, tombstones, and now mummies on everything!

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

A Covered Bridge, a Shotgun Wedding, Patton Wisdom, and Some Art

On our recent vaction, hubby and I got back to our historical marker seeking.  This time we visited the Clarkson Covered Bridge. It is super long and very cool.  We also found a website HERE that has a mapped out tour of Alabama where you can visit 7 in one day - a fun trip for a Fall weekend.  This is the only picture I took of the bridge. The day before, we visited the Patton Musuem at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and viewed Ft. Knox from as close as they will let you get. They say there is still a ton of gold in Ft. Knox - trillions of dollars worth.  We liked the Patton Museum.  I don't agree with most of Patton's management style, but do respect that he accomplished much.  I was impressed with some of his leadership statements like this one which I totally agree with: They have some fabulous items at the museum - hubby could have looked for hours and hours if I had let him. They have planes, tanks, and other vehicles there too so you can see exactly what ...
