Musical Themed Bible Journaling

Hello Friends,

My sweet friend Vicki has been hosting this month's **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* challenge, and her theme is music.

Here is my Bible Journal page focusing on 2 Chronicles 5; the dedication of the temple where the people were singing and praising the Lord. The Lord's presence filled the temple, and the people sang while the priests played musical instruments. There were 120 priests just playing trumpets.

I am sure it was amazing.

I drew the images and then painted them with Daniel Smith watercolors and a handmade metallic watercolor set my daughter gave me for my birthday. I added some shadows to the instruments and flowers because I also did this for the Friday F4A challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com which I am hosting and just posted. It is all about shadows this week.

Hugz,

Nancy

  5. What a stunning page Nancy! I love that wonderful gold shine on the trumpet you've done! I'm so impressed that you've drawn/cut that out! Your flowers are so pretty too and I love your story to inspire the design! I couldn't even imagine the sound of that many priests playing all at once! WOW! Always love your watercolor my friend! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful inspiration using my "MUSIC" theme for AJJ!! HUGS

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!
