Hello crafty friends - happy Friday (or whatever day it is when you read this).
I am so inspired to make art journal pages by the themes at **Art*Journal*Journey* and I am so glad I discovered that site. I am still working on Erika's Favorite Things theme - still have 3 more ideas to create before the month is over.
I do like to think about spooky things - the problem is I am not to sure that I really want them to be true or to experience them. I just like the concept of them.
I smeared my printed words when I used gesso over the top, but I kind of liked it and kept the panel.
The base pictures came from a ghost hunting magazine I bought before Halloween. I bought it at the store when hubby was going to be gone for a weekend. When I bought it, I thought it would be fun to get a glass of wine and read it relaxed in the recliner. I remember placing it in the car and thinking about how fun it would be to read when I got home. When I unloaded my groceries, the magazine was not to be found. I tore my car apart, but did not find it. I even had my daughter look for it but she didn't find it. Then a month ago, the magazine appeared on my back porch....
I am choosing to believe that God hid it from me knowing that reading a ghost magazine when hubby was out of town would be a VERY BAD idea! Looking back, He was right!
The ghosts are from Tim Holtz Frightful Things - I used the die cuts and then used the paper as a stencil to make the less distinct ghosts.
Thanks for visiting! Hugz,
Nancy

DeleteHow spooky. Where was that magazine all that time? Great journal pages! Have a wonderful weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteMy husband swears my daughter had found it and was kidding around with me, but she swears she did not...interesting either way! You have a wonderful weekend as well, Valerie!
DeleteThat is spooky. Great journal pages!
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend, hugs, Elke
Hope you have a beautiful weekend too, Elke!
DeleteI get your idea of ghosts. I'm the same way. I'm not sure I would want to see them. I did see a cat ghost once, one of my cats. I was putting laundry away and the cat strode in. I'm talking away to the cat thinking it was our other cat who was still alive, and then I wondered where he went to. I couldn't find him and he was outside at the door a bit later. Hmm. It had to have been our other cat. Clear as day. Kind of like your magazine story. That is a little scary. And maybe you think I am nuts now. (I was just happy the cat liked living with us so much she didn't want to go away after she passed from cancer.) I do love your ghost page. It is just enough scary and fun. Thanks so much for sharing! Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI don't think you are crazy at all, Erika. That is a cool story! I have had to little on the verge of possibility encounters but mine could have other explanations - not sure what they could have been but... Glad you love my page - I love all your pages!
DeleteThanks Laurie!
ReplyDeleteFun theme Nancy, I'm a bit of woos when it comes to ghosts, I have to have hubby around to watch a movie or read stuff :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful journal page XX
I’m leaving this generic message so you don’t think I’m a flake. I didn’t feel good Friday, and when I woke, the entire area around the eye that got damaged last summer had swollen so badly, I couldn’t open it. After speaking with the vision specialist, the soonest I can get in is Monday morning. I am not to wear the eye patch I was given in case it might exacerbate the swelling, but I am to take the eyedrops I was given from before. Thanks for understanding why I haven’t been to visit you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages! I love the image that you used and those ghosts look such fun 😀. Happy and creative wishes! Hugs, Jo x
