Gnomes and Daniel

 Happy Monday.

I was able to do a bit of creating this weekend before I go back to work.  A friend of mine sent me some darling gnomes last week.  I colored one up with watercolors and gouache paint and added him to this background I made with gouache colors and distress ink.  The planets, moon and wolf are all from Stamperia.  I painted the mushroom and used a chicken wire stencil for the framing.

Linking this to Erika's Favorite Things theme at **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* - I love gnomes, fantasy, and playing with paper/ink/paint.

I also did a little more BAJ in Daniel.  The angel is a RedLead stencil.God saves us from fires every day - ones we know about and ones we can't even imagine.

Then in Daniel 2:23, I was reminded that gratefulness and constant thanks are due God.  I had never really read much more than the traditional stories in this book, but there is a lot of depth to it and much to be learned.  Used my Thanksgiving napkins, a page from an old book, and a stencil to make this.  I was going for a weathered look but never really got there.  I think it needs a coat of Vintage Photo to finish it off.

Hope you all had super holidays and that you have a wonderful post holiday week.  Thank you for visiting!

Hugz,

Nancy

  1. Great BAJ pages Nancy! I started a 'bible in a year' reading app last year, but when I got to Christmas I let it go. I'd already missed a few days. I should get back to it, there's so much I don't know about.
I love your gnome page, I like a bit of fantasy too.
    Hugs,
    Alison xx

  2. Your gnome page made me smile Nancy. I love the wolf on the mushroom (clever) and that gnome is adorable. I like all the magic this page has. Your Bible journaling is beautiful too. That angel is striking with the flames and love how you used that Thanksgiving napkin. It has great texture. Thanks for sharing these with us at AJJ. Much appreciated. Hope your first day back to work isn't too tough. I remember the first day back in January always being so hard. Hugs-Erika

  9. I promised myself I wouldn't be late visiting my Art Journal Journey friends, but here I am running late and several days have passed that I've missed. It started when I lost electricity on January 1 and hasn't allowed me to catch up due to the cold that still prevails in my home. I was sure I had left you a comment already on your adorable gnome and magic mushroom. This is a great entry for Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey and I love the Give Thanks bible page, too!

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!
It's time for the New Release Blog Hop at Dude Time Doodles ! I am thrilled to show off Elmer Elf - just one of the four new images. I love them all and plan to make Christmas cards with every single one of them. Be sure and pick them up soon in the store if you like them because all the Dude Time Doodles Images will be retiring in the next few weeks - sniff, sniff! If you came to my blog from Sharon's amazing blog you can continue on to Mags who has another wonderful creation to show you. Dude Time Doodles blog hops are easy as you can hop on at any point and just continue around. Be sure and leave comments because one of the DT members is the mystery host/hostess and one of the commenters on their blog will win free images from the store. Hugz!!

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....
