Warm Fuzzy Slippers

Hello friends.

Did you get anything fun for Christmas?  

I told my hubby I wanted some new slippers just like the ones I wear every day.  He couldn't find them so he bought me two new styles which I love  - especially the fuzzy boot ones.  They came on a very cool chipboard hanger which I immediately thought would make a fun journal page!  I could have altered the hanger but I wasn't feeling it and used it just like it was.

I used little torn pieces of leftover Christmas tissue paper to make my slippers and I took a few liberties with the My Favorite Things lyrics.  The page is covered with Willow ink from CTMH which I splattered with water. 

I had so much fun making this page this morning at 4:00AM, and it fits perfectly with Erika's Favorite Things theme at **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY*.  

The first day back at work wasn't too bad - let's hope today is the same.  Hope yours is full of your favorite things.

    I think it was more clever not to alter the hanger and to make those fuzzy slippers. They are very very cool!!! I like how you added the song too, because warm fuzzy slippers are the best. I forgot they are part of the lyrics. I always think of the girls in white dresses and warm woolen mittens. OK, now I will drive the dogs nuts by singing. Smile.     I love this! Your are so creative! Your Journals are such keepers! (with so many neat memories in them) When I first started blogging. I used to do a page every week showing my favorite things...maybe I should post one or two of those again ...with going down memory lane theme, and maybe some new ones too. Thanks for the inspiration!

    Love this! I like that you made some 'slippers' and added those words to the actual hanger! 4a.m.???....did you go back to bed afterwards? I sometimes find that a quick play in my craft room when I'm wide awake helps me get back to sleep! Hugs, Chrisx

    What a brilliant idea to make some fluffy slippers from strips of tissue - I thought at first they were the actual slippers you got. That is now one cool idea to use the hanger in the way you did and it is the second time I have seen that song mentioned on a blog post tonight. Now I really cannot get the song out of my head - good job it is a happy one. I might have a lovely dream now.

    A fabulous idea with the hanger and the song. Love your alteration on it. Tissue paper has so many uses. I get my watercolour pens from Arteza. Don't buy very cheap ones from China, they are a waste of money.

    Still playing catch-up, but I love what you have done with this song. I see what you mean when you left that message on my blog about your entry. I really like the way you used the hanger for those adorable slippers. It was a great take on this very popular song. It's also perfect for Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey. Great entry, dear.

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

 Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store.
