What's on My Kitchen Counter

It's "Use a Sentiment" week at Squigglefly (Challenge#7 this year - SFC0713) and team Rhonda (Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals) made up some really darling cards to inspire you. Mine was made using the My Doggie image and sentiment from Lynne Stansbery . The set has 4 fun sentiments and is super reasonably priced at $3. I tested this adorable image and sentiment on 21 women this weekend to make sure it had a high cuteness factor, and it passed with flying colors! Everyone needs to grab a sentiment and come play with us. Anyone can play but you need to use a Squigglefly sentiment or image to qualify for the awesome prizes (there are free images available so that makes it easy). The Snappy Scrappers Retreat I just got back from yesterday was wonderful! Getting away to the mountains with no technology or chores of any kind made me feel like a kid again! Hugz to all!

It is Pink and Black at Squigglefly (SF0613) . I am so running low on time this week with extra overtime, only one car in the family since Kenny's Truck is in the shop, Valentines, and packing for my crafting retreat this weekend! Ok, those of you who know me well know that I haven't packed a thing yet. Anyway, I couldn't resist participating in the Squigglefly challenge which was the perfect opportunity to use this wonderful Maria Shega Cherry Cordial image. I mention I was low on time because I wanted you to know how fast I made this card - less than 30 minutes and that includes purchasing the image, downloading it, transferring it to a thumb drive, moving it to another computer (I like word on my laptop instead of the Apple version on my desktop), putting it in word with a sentiment (the time to think of the sentiment too), dragging my printer in here to the Kitchen Counter, printing the sentiment, hunting for the paper, cutting it all out, and sticking it altoget...

Aren't these new "Kissy" fish by Diana Garrison just the cutest? This week's Squigglefly challenge (SFC0513) is a recipe! I really love to have a recipe as a jumping off place when I cook, so I think it is very inspirational when paper crafting as well. The recipe is a circle, a button, and a flower (or 2 circles, 6 flowers and a button like I used - LOL). My youngest darling daughter is in the back stretch of her Senior Year and this past weekend was her last Cotillion. This girl loves formal dances and all the dress shopping, hair and make-up appointments, and picture taking more than anyone I have ever seen. These were some pictures I snapped quick before they ran off to another picture taking appointment, and I seem to have caught them at the worst time of the day. The sun was awful no matter what we did and I have horrible picture taking skills anyway. Just pretend they don't have the sun in their eyes and there aren't distracting shadows and focus on her smiling face and beautiful dress - LOL! She didn't have two dates - she was just taking pictures with some of her best friends - LOL. Hope you all have a wonderful Friday! Hugz!!!

This week's Squigglefly challenge is "Have a Heart, Please" (SFC0412). Holley's team has this challenge covered, but I thought I would play too since who can resist a challenge with hearts - plus, I have this fun sneak peek Fanny image from Marlene Shaw that will be available in the Store in February. It is Tickle a Teapotter week at the SCS Teapot Tuesday Challenge (when the tea party gals all exchange cards with each other - so fun) so I know that whoever gets this card will laugh for days! The challenge is to do a black and white card with one other color (there are all kinds of other inspirational hints but I just ran with the color part). I added my own sentiment to make it the perfect self-portrait of me. I am sure a few others will identify with this sentiment too - LOL! Hugz!

Fun, fun, fun. I am one of the newest Squigglefly DT members - how fun is that! I have always loved the place with all the zillions of image choices. This past week someone sent me an email that had some precious pictures of older people having fun and one of the sayings was: "put a twinkle in your wrinkle." I vowed to make a card with that saying the minute I read it. I found this unbelievably fun Lynne Stansbery Image called Smile Pretty . Used some glossy accents on those glasses. This card so makes me smile! I also made a card for last week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS - the challenge was to do a card with Harley's or Americana or both. I used the American Pie image by Cheryl Alger. I stretched the pie out to make the star look more even but it looks so much more fun when it is a mile high like it was drawn. Got a few minutes today to catch up with the Teapot Tuesday group at Splitcoast Stampers. This past week they were doing garden cards and sending them to Martha (Mothermark's Aunt). In reading the challenge guidelines/hints/rules for MMTPT233 , I noticed another fun challenge at SCS called You Can Do It. They are already into week 3, but I decided to go back and do challenge 1 which is to do handmade flowers. I figured I could cover both challenges with one card - haven't done that in weeks! Hugz!
