Self Portrait...

This week's Squigglefly challenge is "Have a Heart, Please" (SFC0412). Holley's team has this challenge covered, but I thought I would play too since who can resist a challenge with hearts - plus, I have this fun sneak peek Fanny image from Marlene Shaw that will be available in the Store in February. It is Tickle a Teapotter week at the SCS Teapot Tuesday Challenge (when the tea party gals all exchange cards with each other - so fun) so I know that whoever gets this card will laugh for days! The challenge is to do a black and white card with one other color (there are all kinds of other inspirational hints but I just ran with the color part). I added my own sentiment to make it the perfect self-portrait of me. I am sure a few others will identify with this sentiment too - LOL! Hugz!

Squigglefly Fever

Fun, fun, fun. I am one of the newest Squigglefly DT members - how fun is that! I have always loved the place with all the zillions of image choices. This past week someone sent me an email that had some precious pictures of older people having fun and one of the sayings was: "put a twinkle in your wrinkle." I vowed to make a card with that saying the minute I read it. I found this unbelievably fun Lynne Stansbery Image called Smile Pretty . Used some glossy accents on those glasses. This card so makes me smile! I also made a card for last week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS - the challenge was to do a card with Harley's or Americana or both. I used the American Pie image by Cheryl Alger. I stretched the pie out to make the star look more even but it looks so much more fun when it is a mile high like it was drawn. The card is going in the mail to someone who needs a bit of encouragement due to some serious health issues. Inside it says:"and ch

Flowers for Martha

Got a few minutes today to catch up with the Teapot Tuesday group at Splitcoast Stampers. This past week they were doing garden cards and sending them to Martha (Mothermark's Aunt). In reading the challenge guidelines/hints/rules for MMTPT233 , I noticed another fun challenge at SCS called You Can Do It. They are already into week 3, but I decided to go back and do challenge 1 which is to do handmade flowers. I figured I could cover both challenges with one card - haven't done that in weeks! Hugz!

The Mad Hatter

At the Octopode Factory Friday Challenge they are having a Mad Hatter's Teaparty. Since I love Teaparties, Octopodes, and the Mad Hatter (actually Johnny Depp but that is another story), I had to join in the fun. Work is a bit like Alice in Wonderland sometimes - I am sure everyone's work is a bit like that. I decided to make a little group of tags for one of my fav coworkers using my favorite Alice in Wonderland quotes. I know she is going to flip over this. I used a Sizzix tag die, some fun measuring tape ribbon from Hobby Lobby, SU! Natural White paper, SU! inks, CB and SU! embossing folders, Copic Markers and Spica pens, and images from Octopode (the Mad Hatter and Alice) and Pattie's Creations (the teacup). There are three more pages I didn't show here due to time constraints. I am entering this in the Octopode Mad Hatter Teaparty Challenge . Hugz to all - may you be imagining or believing at least six impossible things before you go to bed toni
A fun birthday card I made really fast the other day. The paper and ribbon seem to make it. I used some packaging for cream to make the gold butterflies. Hope you have a wonderful Friday. Hugz!

Some Hugs and a Few 'Flies

Can you ever have enough "I am thinking of you" cards? I love this sentiment stamp from SU! Makes me feel warm inside every time I see it. All my supplies are SU! other than the Sizzix tag die and Walmart wired ribbon leftover from Christmas. Wow moving from a laptop to a desktop really magnifies the flaws in my cards and photography! Hope you are all having a wonderful week - there is a chance of a few snow flakes here in Middle Alabama. That is a rare occasion so everyone is either excited or freaking out (even me - LOL - I just don't know which one to do). A few days ago it was in the 70s so we are a mixed up bunch. Hugz!

Computer Vacation Creations

My laptop is still sick, but I drug the desktop out of "storage" because I just can't stand it any longer. Maybe Kenny will take a day or two out of his busy hunting season and take the laptop to the doctor (one of his friends). If not, I am going to have to resort to Geek Squad - LOL. While I have been off-line, I have made a lot of cards. Here are a few: Made one of these for a friend at work whose husband is going to long-term rehab due to some serious health issues that totally came out of the blue and I gave the other to my sweet Mom to send. Mom sends lots of cards. She makes most herself, but she always uses any I give her too. She loved this one so much she copied it and made some like it. How fun to be cased by your Mother. The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread and most the paper is from SU!. This was the birthday card I made my Mother for her 77th Birthday. She has always reminded me of Audrey. I love this image from LilyPink Designs (available

My Poor Sick Computer

Wondering where I have been? I am still at the kitchen counter, but I am having some computer problems. My computer is very ill and its doctor has been on vacation up North. On top of that, we are on a special project at work so I have very little free time to try and get on friend's computers or log on at work. As a result, I am taking a little break. I am hoping everything will work out and I will be back on-line in a week. I can't wait to check out what you all have been doing. I have a zillion ideas in my head to try when I get some time - I have actually been writing them all down in a notebook I have been carrying around in my purse. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. At the Williams' house we had lots of time with family and friends (when I wasn't working) so it was really special. We got promising news from the doctor on my Mother's cancer treatment - keep her in your prayers. Hugz to all!!! Miss ya!
