Halloween Drinks, Date Night, and a Bit of Snark

Fun drinks for the week to share with the super fun T-day garng who meet up at Elizabeth's blog . This is filled with Poweraid. or something like it.  My daughter drove to the town where Vampire Diaries is filmed and drank one.  I can't believe she didn't bring me one back! She had this one at one of the local bars that is often in the show.  She said it was very strong and infused with herbs.  I love the spooky color.  This one was my drink.  Of course, I bought it for the can.  It liked it, but I didn't love it.   Hubby took me on a date night this week. We split a molcajeta (edited to fix spelling) bowl, and it was wonderful!   Update:  Around here the restaurants do a pinto bean, onion, red chili, and bell pepper base, then add a block of queso type cheese a grilled jalapeno, and grilled chorizo, shrimp, pork, steak and chicken. HERE is a link to a video about it.  Everyone puts a different spin on it.  I hadn't had one since my last gal bladder attack. No more

(Spooky) Adventure is Worthwhile

The next few weeks are some of my favorite weeks of the year - they are normally mild weather (Central Alabama), everyone seems to be in a Halloween mood, and my birthday is the day after Halloween.   Try It On Tuesday has a Halloween theme right now and Tracey picked My Favorite Colour is October theme for * *Art*Journal*Journey* so I did a Halloween page in my Dylusions Journal.  The page was first sponged with Distress Oxides.  The house, witch, wheat, and fence are all from DRS Designs (I covered the house in Black Stickles), Jack is a button (purchased at Walmart), and the saying is from Tim's Small Talk Sticker pack. Super fun page to create.  I hope you have some fun Halloween plans.  All mine involve family, candy, fun drinks, and tasty party food.   Nancy

Spooky Flowers, A Cool Drink, and a Thanksgiving Card

Hello friends - happy T-day!!! I have an interesting Art Journal page for you today - perfect for Halloween and the Day of the Dead.  The paint flecks and spiders make it really fun, but the most interesting thing to me is that the flowers all came off my parents' graves.  I just didn't want to throw away the flowers as they were so cool and had the most interesting fraying.  Here is the evolution of the page. First layer of ink.  Second layer of ink. Third layer of ink and water distressing. Flowers all piled on - isn't that fraying cool? Then the arranging.   Then the splattering (black and gold paint), spiders (can you count them all?) and the addition of the word "Remember."  Linking this to Tracey's "My Favorite Colour is October" theme at **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY. I also have a spooky drink to share with you all.  As usual, the T-day gang is meeting up at Elizabeth's Blog to share something to do with drinks (of any kind).  Anyone is welcome

Liquid Death, a Skeleton, and Some ATCs

Do you ever fall for super creative marketing? I couldn't resist buyigg this Sparkling Water after seeing the name and the image on the can. This water is almost as expensive as beer, but it is soooooo cool.   Even the wording on the can is cool - here is a little bit of it: "This infinitely recyclable can of stone-cold sparkling water came straight from the Alps to murder your thirst." "Once cracked open, no thirst is safe from Liquid Death." Love it!  It is also my ticket to T-day over at Elizabeth's Blog . I plan to serve this water at our family Halloween party.  We are going to do a skeleton charcuterie  board too.  We bought a cool skelton at Target to fill with candy and treats on our board  The Grandsons all loved it, and one of them strapped him the car seat for the ride home? I am still on an ATC kick.  Here are three versions I did for a multi-level Back to School Swap - I signed up for three diffeent ones. 1.  The top one is a book cover theme  -

A Night Owl Beer and Some Octoberish Creations

Hello friends, and Happy T-day. I am a diehard morning person, but lately I have stayed up a bit later trying to get a few things done or just reading one of the great books I have in my pile.  This last of my pumpkin beers seems approriately named. It is dark and flavorable with just a hint of sweet pumpkin.  It is also my ticket to Elizabeth's T-day meeting of worldwide friends celebrating drinks (of any genre) and sharing bits of our life. We meet at Elizabeth's Altered Book Lover Blog and anyone is welcome as long as you share your own drink related post.  Its a new theme over at Art Journal Journey so I used some of the free stuff in my Red Lead package to create a journal page in celebration of Tracey's theme:  The Color October. In case you don't remember my package of goodies I shared last week... the papers were all extras I received when I ordered the vintage deer and Christmas sentiment stamps. I created a card and a journal page withtthe free papers. I used
