This cute card is for the Tiddly Inks "Flower Power #87" and the Haunted Design House "Truebie or not to Truebie (HDH136)" Challenges. The Haunted Design House Challenge is to be inspired by Trueblood which starts its 5th Season soon.
I don't have the channel Trueblood is on, but my children gave me Season One for Christmas last year and I have read most of Charlaine Harris' novels which inspired the show (they are sooo fun - seriously, they are more comical than scary). I have been thinking about purchasing this cute Batty image from Tiddly Inks so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to get her - isn't she adorable? I did another layer of the bat and popped him up so it would look more like he is flying. The sentiment was a free one available at Tiddly Inks, and I used it because I thought it looked like something Sookie and her friends would think or say. The red border on the left is made with a MFT Die-namics border die - looks kind of like sharp teeth don't you think?
This week's challenge at Tiddly Inks is all about flowers so I added some fun rolled roses in black, red, and distressed red to the card. The papers are SU! and My Minds Eye (the hat pins are from My Minds Eye too). I found the fun black fringe by Simplicity on sale at Walmart for $1 - looks like something you would see on the furniture on Trueblood don't you think?
I did this card yesterday for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. The featured stamper is Rita Wright (kyann22 on SCS), and I cased this lovely card.
My papers are all SU! and I used the MFT Die-Namics Mini Rolled Roses die and a Spellbinders leaf die to do the floral arrangement. Can you tell I just purchased the rolled roses die? I hope I don't use it so much you get sick of it - but it is soooo fun to make these flowers. The Butterflies were made with the SU! Butterfly Embosslet - can you see the little hidden 'fly?
I had fun playing cards today. I have to let you know that while Goethe may think that if you trust yourself you will know how to live, but I am living proof that trusting yourself isn't how you should live. The times I have trusted God instead of myself are the times that things worked out so much better!

ReplyDeleteI love both cards. The flowers on both are amazing. I like how the butterfly on the second card is blending in with the card but pops out with the pearls.
