Political Humor #2 (no pun intended)

This week's Dude Time Doodles Challenge is the Freebie/Guest Designer challenge. If you like freebies and would like to be a guest designer for Dude Time Doodles, you need to try out this challenge. The images are soooo fun and this design team is super fun to work with. I won the May challenge, and I highly recommend entering.

This month's image is a toilet or loo or whatever you want to call it. Visit Dude Time Doodles for the details and grab the image. If you do nothing else, go to the blog and check out what the Design Team came up with - it is some pretty creative stuff! Who knew that a toilet could be used to make so many different cards!

I went with some political humor (the second card I have ever made that had a political current running through it). My Mother loves political humor (especially when it matches up with her current way of thinking) and so does her cousin George; so this card will be going to George who will totally flip over it. I used some SU! cardstock and papers from my stash plus this great freebie image from Dude Time Doodles. A few stars punched out with a Creative Memories star punch and a handdrawn arrow and I was done!

Doesn't this image just get you going? LOL!

Hugz!!!!

  3. Well that's got to be the best card I've ever seen with a loo!! Who'd have thought you could make the porcelain throne look so patriotic? Great card and such a shame the sentiment could be applied to so many countries at the moment!

  8. Yes it got me going!!! I saw this in my blog roll on the side of my blog and said "That is not a Toilet on Nutzi card"....well it was, it is, and it's there!!! You have me going...(Pardon the Pun)hahaha I have to go check the DT creations. I would have had to come up with something with a toilet paper roll and a toilet paper flower. This card is so fun. I am sure George will love it. Thanks for the laugh!

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....
