Some Yummy Colors

The color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers has some gorgeous colors again! Basic Gray, Strawberry Slush, and Bermuda Bay. I would never has put these colors together but I love them together!

I just painted on some water on my SU! Naturals paper. I just wet my big brush a lot and slopped it on in a trail. Then I just dabbed in bits of the colors from my $9.99 watercolor set. They swirled together and then I stood up the paper and shook it so some of the paint would drip down. I love how it came out. After I dried that with my heat tool. I flecked some of the leftover paint on to the paper since it needed something. I then put all the leftover color on some aluminum foil, spritzed a little ,and smashed a scrap of paper on it. I die cut my butterfly out of that paper. The sentiment is out of the SU! Word Play set and stamped in Archival Ink (Watering Can).

So quick and easy!

  10. This is stunning Nancy, your watercolour background is fabulous and your butterfly is beautiful. You make it sound so easy but I know it would never turn out like that if I tried - when I slop, dab, shake and drip it ends up looking a right mess!

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!
It's time for the New Release Blog Hop at Dude Time Doodles ! I am thrilled to show off Elmer Elf - just one of the four new images. I love them all and plan to make Christmas cards with every single one of them. Be sure and pick them up soon in the store if you like them because all the Dude Time Doodles Images will be retiring in the next few weeks - sniff, sniff! If you came to my blog from Sharon's amazing blog you can continue on to Mags who has another wonderful creation to show you. Dude Time Doodles blog hops are easy as you can hop on at any point and just continue around. Be sure and leave comments because one of the DT members is the mystery host/hostess and one of the commenters on their blog will win free images from the store. Hugz!!

Gilbert With Some Comic Books

The new Squigglefly challenge is to your two favorite colors. Mine change all the time, but right now they are red and black. I used an image new to Squigglefly called Gilbert's Marvelous Adventure by Cheryl Grant Alger. There are a ton of cute Cheryl Grant Alger images in the store - I have about 20 on my wish list after checking them out this weekend! This one is very special - oh, to be this young and passionate about something again. I am giving this card to my parents - they are my super heroes! Grab your favorite colors and come visit with us this week. Hugz!
