Faux Stained Glass

The DRS Designs Challenge this week is a color challenge.  Participants are asked to use some of the colors below in their creations:

This challenge made me think of the Polka Dot Flower Trio stamp so I used it.  I combined it with the Single Flying Butterfly image and the Oval Stained Glass image. The new Butterfly Kisses Greeting (I see it is on sale 30% right now).

You should check out what the other DRS Designs DT members created with these lovely colors (click HERE to see).

Hope your week is going well!

  6. Nancy, you did a great job with that stainglass stamp...I have tried several times to use it without much success!!
I have to comment about the wedding pictures as well. Your photographer did a splendid job! The photos are very pretty and creative. I have been the photographer for a few weddings (not anymore...too stressful!) so I appreciate good photos and good ideas for photos! Love them! Love the bride photos especially (that is what I liked to do the best).

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....
