A Doodling Adventure

Hello friends!

There is a lot going on here at my house.  The kitchen counter light went out again so my card picture had to be taken outside.  Crafting and cooking are not as much fun either - can't see anything hardly.  The electrician is coming today to fix the balancer or something.  He is also installing a new industrial lighting system in my craft room and putting in "true light" bulbs so there will be some really great lighting in there.  I can't wait!!!  We are also on red alert for the call from Crystal - the one where she says she is headed to the hospital to have the baby.  Every time I hear the phone ring, I am thinking it may be THE CALL.  I can't wait to be a grandmother!!!

Now on to my card.  Lately, I have done a few card challenges with doodling, and I have really enjoyed it (the doodling and the challenges).  For today's card, I doodled on my card base and my images.  I stamped the Medium Daisy Bloom three times and swiped a yellow ink pad across the images instead of coloring them.  I added some dots at the end of some of the lines, curled the petals a bit with a stylus, and layered the flowers. For some fun leaves, I took the Fleur de Lis image, cut out the middle portion, and drew on some veins. 



For my greeting, I used the Medium Script Anniversary stamp.  This came out to be a very cheerful Anniversary card with all the yellow and the happy flower.

    Yeah for new/natural lighting!! Such a treat :) Love all that fabulous yellow - such a happy colour and makes for a great card. Can just imagine how you are "on call alert" - oh my! Kind of like when my daughter was away and we hoped it wasn't her calling being homesick but rather enjoying the trip - kind of the opposite of your situation but know the feeling around the phone ringing LOL! Can't wait to see pics of your grandchild :)

    I love your cheery and sunny card, Nancy! And WOW to the doodling! I'm tickled if I can doodle a wavy crooked line, haha! I've got my fingers crossed and positive energy coming your way for a smooth delivery of a healthy grandbaby for you!! There is NOTHING in the world better than being a grandma, unless maybe it's being a grandpa (but I doubt it!)!! Also good luck with the new lighting which sounds awesome! Big hugs, Darnell

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. A Bit of Tea, Horses, and a Cowboy

 I love when my children follow in my footsteps and beyond (only the cool footsteps, of course).   My daughter, Allie, has developed a love of tea.  She sent me this picture over the weekend of her having tea in her newly remodelled bedroom.   She was drinking Breakfast in Paris tea in one of her favorite thrift store mugs.  This is my ticket to the T-day gathering over at Elizabeth's blog .  To join us, all you have to do is have a drink related post (can be any type of drink).   The neighborhood horses have been gathering in our backyard for some reason. Our horse refuses to come up near our house because the lady who owns all these horses gives her much better treats.  They all jump the fences and visit everyone.  The mule in the picture is actually named after me because I named one of cows after the neighbor (he paid me back - lol). I gave them apples when they came on Sunday, and they have come back every day since - lol....

Forest Goodies and Other Projects

 Hello Crafty Friends. I just got the Stamperia Forest Paper and Die Cuts in the mail so I had to play with them right away.   I have a combo creation - journal page and card.  On the journal page I used my 6x6 Dina Wakley Journal and laid a base of gesso.  I then used Dina's pastel crayons and some SU! inks and stamps.  Also added in some TH Dress Ink in Vintage Photo since I don't know how to make anything without it  (seriously).   The eagle is a Stamperia Forest die cut and is coated with gesso.  Did a bit of stenciling and distressing to finish the page off.  I am linking this the the **Art*Journal*Journey* September Texture Theme (last day - can't wait to see what October's Theme will be).  The die cut and the little smears add texture to the already very textured page.   I love the blue and green together and was inspired to made a quick card for my Son-in-law who cut down some tree limbs for us the other day....
