Lines, Leaves, Flowers and a Ghost!

 Hello crafty friends!

Today I am sharing some recent makes.

The first is a bible journaling page I did yesterday after watching THIS lovely video by AhMadArt on YouTube.  I tried both her scenes and techniques.  I didn't do the little water scene that great, but I love how my bible journaling in Psalms came out.  I definitely will try something like it again.

So fun and splattering, painting, and thinking of how God is with us, was very calming!  I am also linking this to the **Art*Journal*Journey* theme for October which is Hold the Line (Lines).  Such a fun theme that Chris chose.

All was done with my $6 watercolor set because it is the easiest to find and use.

Here are a few more creations:

I drew the tulips and embossed and painted the embossing on the background.  This was for two challenges on Splitcoaststampers.  It is going off to a lovely lady turning 102 that loves bows and red&yellow tulips.

This last one is a spooking Halloween card I made after losing a ghost magazine between the grocery store and home - true story!!  Used all DRS Designs stamps including the recent leaning ghost and Mountain and Treeline 2-in-1 stamp.  Lots of sponging and distressing on the background and the main panel.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugz, Nancy

  1. Beautiful trees on your "line" page Nancy. It is perfect for Chris' challenge and for Art Journal JOurney. Thanks for joining us. Your other art is beautiful also. I love the spooky ghost piece too. And did you get my email the other day? I had a question for you. Have a great start to your weekend. Hugs-Erika

  2. Wow, Nancy, three wonderful pieces! Love the trees and dappled leaves in your Bible journaling, and the tulips, and that gorgeous ghost. I think a bored ghost must have stolen your ghost magazine, they can be so naughty! Thanks so much for linking your beautiful art to AJJ, much appreciated, hugs, Valerie

  6. I'm incredibly late visiting, but couldn't wait to see what beauties you had created for us. I was especially impressed with the page you created for Chris's theme at Art Journal Journey. It is stunning, but so are the tulips and your ghost card. It's too bad you lost the magazine, but it was great inspiration for that entry. Thank you again for linking at Art Journal Journey.

The Halloween card is stunning with the complex background and the really sweet ghost.
I wonder how your ghost magazine managed to make its escape between shop and home.

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

The Sea, Words of Courage, and Some Ink/Watercolor

Hello friends, Last week felt like a stormy sea of its own with my husband recovering from recent hip replacement surgery and several friends and family members facing life battles - my heart was caught in the waves. Computer issues and lack of sleep didn't help. Mark 4:39-41 reminded me: even when the winds rage, Jesus is in the boat. He speaks peace over the chaos. “Peace, be still.” I needed that reminder. Several lovely Creative Worship Stamps sets were used in the making of this watercolored and inked BAJ page: The Sea (the boat and verse), Scene Silhouettes: Tall Grasses, and Have Courage . This page was stamped, then watercolored with Daniel Smith Watercolors. I finished it off with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo, Mustard Seed, and Ground Expresso), plus a little bit of Silver Stickles. We have a lot of things going on in life and you time is precious, thank you for spending a little bit with me.  Hugz, Nancy

Wise Words for Life's Storms

My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops). The words were stamped with black ink from Close to My Heart. Hugz, Nancy
