Dragon Slayer Thoughts

Over at **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY*, Elizabeth and Bluebeard have us recycling, reusing, and repurposing.  Here is my first attempt....

This is going in my 6x8 Me Journal.  I haven't done a page for it since mid-2020 so it was about time.  I used some new paper and a new stamp I ordered from Close To My Heart (couldn't resist the dragon or the fairytale paper) and an older SU! set (the girl in the water and the sentiment), but I stamped the dragon on an envelope keeping part of the Queen stamp on it (the envelope was from my friend Jayne) and I cut the little purple heart from a used postage stamp laying around the counter. I also had the main panel painted up and ready for the trash bin as it didn't come out like I wanted so it was great I could find a way to keep it.

We all slay dragons every day - internal and external.

Hugz,

Nancy

  1. This page is adorable Nancy. I can see why you wanted this dragon image and that paper. And your writing is so true about not real dragons we need to slay, because those inner ones can be tough to face sometimes for certain. I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend. And thanks for joining Elizabeth's challenge at AJJ also. hugs-Erika

  2. I love how you used your new dragon stamp on a used envelope. I also like how you chose the purple heart, too. This is a very thought provoking and quite interesting concept about slaying our inner and outer dragons. It certainly hits home with me. Thanks for this incredible entry you gave us at Art Journal Journey using Bleubeard's and my theme. This was marvelous, Nancy.

  4. Oh, I love that dragon(-thought)! Very good - I´ll sure keep that in mind. Right now my dragon sits in the kitchen and behaves like a three-year old who could get what he wants but is too lazy to go buy it. Aka hubby.
I gave him a second chance already. Maybe I give him a dragon-chance. To a happy day, hugz!

  7. What a wonderful page, and a great quote Nancy. I've had a few dragons to cope with this year, but I'm getting there.
Wishing you a very blessed Easter.

  8. Really love this layout Nancy, love the vision of the lady in the lake, I can sense the feeling of freedom. The dragon stamp is adorable, like many I too have been plagued with inner dragons this past year. Take care of yourself & stay creative.
Wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend Hugs Tracey xx
