An Umbrella

We have needed an Umbrella more days than I can remember this year. I guess I shouldn't be complaining as we needed it.

So about my card. My DD, Crystal, had a wedding shower this past weekend given by some lovely ladies from her fiance's family. They did an awesome job. Everything was wonderful! In the middle of the room, they had a pretty clear umbrella hanging from the ceiling with beautiful decorations inside. It covered the punch table. Crystal asked me to make some thank you cards for the hostesses so I decided to go with umbrellas.

The image is by Cheryl Alger and is called Sam's Rainy Day. It is available at Squigglefly. I love the look on her face - so sweet. The papers on my card are from the Lacey Grace stack by Glitz and from SU!. I love the wild green animal print - it is so Crystal (of course she also asked me to make all the thank you cards - I think I am making them in my sleep)!

Hugz to all - hope your week is going well! If you have some extra time, please come by and help me with these cards - LOL!

  3. How creative! Love the image and your sentiment is perfect with her. Great coloring and design too. The rain and cold weather seem to go hand in hand this year.

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
