A Vine and Arch


It is all about Purple in the newest Squigglefly challenge. It is our team's week off, but as usual I could not resist playing. I used a newer image by Pamela Lehto called Trumpet Vine Arch. I have had this image a few weeks, but had to think about how to use it best. I loved how Linda used it HERE, but I didn't want to copy here pretty card. I finally decided it would be great frame for some scripture or encouraging words, and I really like how it came out (my sentiment is from SU!). When I finished my panel, I decided to add some of my new Impression Obsession dies to mimic the image (fence and leaves).

Hope you can find some time to join the challenge too. Remember if you don't have a Squigglefly image, they have thousands of images from a large number of great artists and they have a large free section as well.

    This is stunning, Nancy. I love every bit of it. Fantastic look to have one line of the sentiment in purple and popped up. Love that fence and your flowers. Outstanding job.

    You've got my attention with this beauty. Now that is awesome. I am totally taken with how you did the flowers on the side as embellishment and how wonderfully it matches the image. The fence and flower add another layer of beauty. This is fantastic. I love it!

    Nancy how inspirational! I love the verse, and the way you have part of it on the purple piece is wonderful. Your flowers trailing up the side look like they were meant to be there. I just love this!

    Hi Nancy, purple has always been a hard color for me, but you sure pulled it off beautifully with this lovely image and coloring. Embossed papers are pretty as well. Just gorgeous.

    There are so many gorgeous details on this beautiful card that it's just pure eye candy! I love how you added the purple panel for one line of the sentiment, and the beautiful vine climbing up the side of your card is fabulous! The colors are amazing, and so is this entire card! WOW!

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

 Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
