Some Birthday Fun

It's time for MFPSpeedyTV's Inspiration Challenge - Halloween Costumes and here are the fun Inspirational pics:


And here is my card:

I used MFP's Firefighter Stamp Set and the Holiday Stamp Set. My bg is a fire saftety poster I shrunk down, and I used two SB dies, some gems from my stash, and some of the fun rusty stars you can get in the mini-tree holiday section at Hobby Lobby (better hurry if you want some because they go fast every year). I love how this came out!

    So that is how you sure a fire extinguisher,huh? Great, fun card. love the Dalmatian. I've never seen those rusty looking star, I'll have to look for them.

    Great card, Nancy, and so fun. Love the cute Dalmatians. Pretty stars and I must look for them. Is that an alien I see in the background....maybe for Halloween? :-)

    I have a dear friend who is a firefighter and he'd just love this card! Those dalmations sitting on top of the fire hydrant are too cute for words! Excellent!

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Unopened Mail And My Grocery List

We arrived back from our Las Vegas trip last night so the only thing on my Kitchen Counter is unopened mail and my grocery list.  I have looked up the recipes for most the great food we ate (or wish we ate) in Las Vegas including Bacon Waffles and Chicken and Waffles - so my counter top should look awesome tomorrow (or as soon as I get a waffle maker).  We had lots of fun in Las Vegas but not as much as Crystal and Joey.  If we were still 21 we would have had a blast!  No luck with gambling - but I only gained 1 pound which is a miracle!
