Some Fun Christmas Creations

I took a break from studying last night and today (I am studying to take a Certification at Work - I take my test this Saturday so wish me luck) and made a few things.


This card is a case of the FS356 at Splitcoast Stampers and I cased THIS card. The image and sentiment I used are sneak peeks of images done by Elizabeta Kushner and they will be available at Squigglefly this coming Saturday. I colored the image by dragging my ink pad across my kitchen counter, spritzing it with glitter spray, and then dragging my image through it. I learned this technique from Carol at ChocolatecraftsandBearsohmy. . The papers are from Glitz, SU! and The Paper Studio.


This is one of the Christmas cards I am sending this year. I reworked a card I made with my DD for her Ugly Sweater Party. I think it came out fun. I did the base in Word and if you would like the file, just let me know and I will send it to you.


The MIX challenge at SCS this week is to make something that hangs. I made this ornament using a $1 ornament from Dollar General and replaced the center with my image which was stamped on Glitz paper, colored with Copics and Tim Holtz Distress Markers, flecked with some paint and then topped with some glitter and fake snow. I was going to enter this in the House Mouse Challenge (due to the warm mittens) but I didn't load this last night and now it is too late.


Lastly, I cased the Queen for the Day at SCS - Beverly. I cased a Tag she did (see it here).

    Nancy, I love each of your wonderful cards! And, I especially love the personalized card. If I had the know how, I would do a similar one for Jim and I, but, alas, the computer is smarter than me! I know you will ace your test!!

    Had a good laugh seeing your post. I bought up everyone of those tart ornaments at two Dollar Generals....lol Love your personalized card-how fun is that. Your little snowman tag is darling. The poinsettia on kraft has a down home country elegance feel. Love everything. Hope you have a wonderful Cyber Monday!!!

    My gosh, what a wonderful group of cards. I don't know which I like best as they are all super cute, adorable, beautiful, and creative. I do spy a snowman. :-) I'm sure Carol is full of wonderful tips. Oh, I have that 'turn on the twinkle' stamp and am wanting to use it.

The Sea, Words of Courage, and Some Ink/Watercolor

Hello friends, Last week felt like a stormy sea of its own with my husband recovering from recent hip replacement surgery and several friends and family members facing life battles - my heart was caught in the waves. Computer issues and lack of sleep didn't help. Mark 4:39-41 reminded me: even when the winds rage, Jesus is in the boat. He speaks peace over the chaos. “Peace, be still.” I needed that reminder. Several lovely Creative Worship Stamps sets were used in the making of this watercolored and inked BAJ page: The Sea (the boat and verse), Scene Silhouettes: Tall Grasses, and Have Courage . This page was stamped, then watercolored with Daniel Smith Watercolors. I finished it off with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo, Mustard Seed, and Ground Expresso), plus a little bit of Silver Stickles. Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. This time I used Daniel Smith Ground Medium in Titanium White (I mixed it with 10 parts water). I loved it and will be using it in the fut...

Wise Words for Life's Storms

 My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops).
