Some Cheerful Yellow Cards


This week at the MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challenge, Shirley found some lovely coats to inspire us:

Both my cards were inspired by the color and design of the yellow coat and those little yellow flowers in the background. I love the first two coats and if I could look as good as those girls in the coats, I would buy them and wear them every day - even in the summer! The stamp sets I used for these cards are Lots of Words (the first card) and Natures Brushstrokes and Columns and Topiaries (for the second card). I used the netting from my holiday turkey on the first card, and on the second I was also inspired by THIS wonderful card by Jo on Splitcoast Stampers - I love how she nested her Nesties and I had to try it!

    Holiday turkey netting? I get the most marvelous ideas from you, thank you. I adore both cards. Very nice look to the second card with the different dies put together. both stamps are lovely.and your button and gems are sweet subtle additions. Wow it has been about 45 years since I could fit into one of those coats, but I agree, I would were them constantly if I could look that good.

    Nancy, both of the cards are beautiful. You really aced this challenge. I love that you used the netting from the turkey, I like recycling those things. I like the unusual frame, it looks great and the brushstrokes flower is perfect with it. If you can figure out how to make us look good in those coats, let me know. I loved the first two, also. Hugs.

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. Wise Words for Life's Storms

 My first post as a Guest Designer for Creative Worship Stamps. This watercolor and ink card features one of my favorite CWS sentiments - Big God . I am so grateful He is there in storms and this stamp beautifully underscores His power. The main panel of this card is watercolor paper and was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors and Liquid Ink (the white highlights in the rain drops).
