Peace and Happiness

One of my New Years Resolutions was to participate in more MFPSpeedyTV challenges so I can support the other MFP designers, learn from some talented people, and get to know the other designers a bit more. It is also a great way to use my images in new ways.

So I picked the Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge #215 and it is to make an Oriental Card - not a style I am comfortable with but I gave it a try.


I used the MFP Lanterns and Work of Art sets.

You have to check out the pretty cards done by the DT - Amazing work girls!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week - I am getting a bit scared about mine - just made coffee and forgot to put the carafe back in - coffee went everywhere and I had to spend 20 minutes cleaning up the mess. Oh well, could have been worse and it gave me an excuse to clean the coffee maker really well - LOL! Hugz!

    Wow, this could be my most fave card from you. It is just so far eastern and sooooooooooo pretty. The colour palette is matured and sophisticated and everything looks so arty.

    Now, that is not a style I can do either, but yours is LOVELY, Nancy! I see that Monica above me said it's probably her most fave card from you, and I can see why. It's very authentic looking, and so pretty.

Flowers, a Flag, and Some Wise Words

Hello Crafty Friends! I love Halle's theme at **Art*Journal*Journey* this month: Botanicals. So many possibilities... I combined the botanical theme with some of the colors in ARTNUDGE#725A and came up with this Bible Art Journal page focusing on 1 Timothy 2:1-2. I also made a patriotic prayer card too. In these verses, Paul tells Timothy (and all of us) to pray for everyone but he especially calls out prayer for kings and leaders. He indicates that this type of prayer could lead us to a tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity. I think we can all agree that the world needs much prayer right now and it is an easy step we can take.   I experimented on this journal page. I usually cover any bible journal pages with gesso before painting on them, but I have issues with the gesso gumming up my Micron pens or unevenly taking color. Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

 Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

 I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....
