Luau Inspired Prayers

The colors on the pictures for this week's MFPSpeedyTV Inspiration Challege #74 (Luau Wedding Tables) are gorgeous:

I picked the purple and green table - I love those colors together.

To make my card, I used MFP's Cone flower and Lots of Words sets. I stamped the butterfly from Lots of Words on one of my panels instead of trying to find some dp to match everything. I water colored the bg using drywall tape and then water colored my image as well.

I hope you will join us. If you have any questions about the challenge or how to participate, please let me know. I really love MFP stamps - the sets come with so many sentiments and are so versatile. I am happy to announce that I will be joining the MFP Senior Design Team in August. Fun times!

Hugz!

  10. So glad to hear you will be one the senior design team...you so deserve it.!!!
It is so much fun to win one of their stamp sets. I am making a strong effort to get each inked and out to card. I have been delaying too long.

Sometimes I do wish they would check a bit more as there are still people winning who enter the same card in other challenges that week...happened this week again! Drag

Your card is lovely....such beautiful colours together!

  13. You have such a wonderful, detailed artsy style, Nancy. Your cards always have a lot going on, but I don't mean "busy". You layer things just so, and include all the "God is in the details" bits that make your creations a joy to behold.

    This card is really beautiful!

And PS, thank you SO, SO much for always coming to visit me and leave pretty comments. You make me smile!

Language Plays, Billiard Balls, and Some "Interesting" Wine

I always look forward to the new **Art*Journal*Journey* Theme each month. The May theme was chosen by Elle and she chose Language as the theme. So many cool things you can do with that theme.  This weekend I chose to do the Language(s) of God in my Journaling Bible.  When I started, I was going to do Fasting as a way of speaking to God but after listening to a Sermon on Fasting, I realized that was more complicated and I would have to study it more first. So I switched gears midstream and just did some of ways that God speaks to us and vice versa.  There are many more, but I put the ones I could think of quickly here.   The papers are from an old hymnal and Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The gnome is CTMH as well.  Now I have played with all the gnomes in the set,and I totally love them. While looking for the hymnal paper, I ran across an old song book that I was saving.  It was damaged so I knew it would have to be recycled into something....

Some Penguins

Today kicks off the newest Pattie's Creations Challenge which is Tags . Just Tags. No cards with Tags on or in them - just tags. I love to make just tags so this one was right up my alley. I used the super cute Penguin image from Pattie's Creations, but I couldn't stop at just one so I made a little penguin family. My tag is made from an old cardboard box top which I peeled down, painted, distressed a bit, and then added some snow medium. My bow is actually a new bow designed by Pamela Lehto (available at Squigglefly tomorrow). Please join us in the Pattie's Creations Tag Challenge - there are lovely DT tags for inspiration and Pattie gives away wonderful prizes! Hugz!

Stamps, Books, Found Relatives, and More Food

Don't you love getting new stuff?  This is my fun new stuff from  Red Lead Paperworks .   I ordered the fun vintage looking deer stamp and the three Christmas greetings - all were on sale a few weeks ago.  I love getting their packages because they always send some extra little goodies like collage sheets and old tickets plus even their packaging is cute and reusable.  The sheet with the leaves and acorns on the bottom is the other side of the invoice so you can reuse it as well.  I can't wait to play with these fun goodies.  Here is a look at my current reading pile.  I checked Basil's War by Stephen Hunter from the library, my daughter lent me The Paper Palace, and I bought The Host, Going Back to Petrey, and The Lady in Blue from the Thrift Store. I am reading Basil's War and The Lady in Blue at the same time - something I really shouldn't do especially since both books are the kind that switch between stories every chapter.  Th...
