A Wreath, Snow, and some Flowers

In Alabama, they are breaking up the hunting season. You get to hunt for a few weeks, then you stop, then you start again - I think that happens 3 times. Hubby was gone all weekend and I am not a big Black Friday shopper so I got to play on the kitchen counter!

My favorite card I made was for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS. The site was Sur La Table and I cased THIS lovely wreath. I used my fav MFP stamp set - Create with Pine Boughs, plus a MS leaf and branch punch. I stole more stuff off of one of hubby's flower arrangements too (he told someone the other day that I use to do this but he has no clue that I still do - LOL!). I made the wood look bg by taking a piece of old SU! dp (it was green with red flowers - seriously) - and I ran it through the SU! wood ef, then drug my SU! chocolate chip stamp pad across it, then I took some MS White Metal Primer and dipped a paper towel in it and drug it down the paper in straight lines - I love how it came out and the paper totally changed!

Next, I played in the MIX challenge on SCS and the MIX concept was snowy scenes:

Lastly, I had the great honor of being the Featured Stamper on SCS this week and I cased one of my own cards. I didn't post it but I cased THIS card.

    Hi, Nancy! Your blog was my first stop this morning, and I must say, WOWOW! My eyes danced over your projects - and I ended up pinning each one. They are gorgeous! I admire the painstaking time you used in creating that magnificent wreath! My fumble fingers would not be happy at all with that project, but you made it so gorgeous - truly! All those lovely textures - and I want to steal those tiny berries, too! Good thing I'm not around, or I'd be stealing plenty from your hubby's arrangements! Love what you did with the printed SU paper.

    Four gorgeous cards Nancy, your wreath is absolutely stunning, I love the wood effect background. You have created a fabulous winter scene and your pine branches are wonderful. Your final card is beautiful as well - so different from the others, congratulations on being featured stamper on SCS this week.

    Gasp! That wreath card is magnificent! It must have taken hours to assemble it after cutting, but it's just gorgeous! All of your cards are amazing, but I keep scrolling back to the first one in total awe!! Beautiful cards!

    Awww look at that wreath-wow Nancy that is so beautiful. Love the texture on that pine branch. It does look so much like snow. The Santa Sleigh and Reindeer is so sweet. That scene is darling. The flower card is a bright spot on an otherwise frosty cold winter day. May the lord bless you and keep you. Miss you and sending my love.

Unopened Mail And My Grocery List

We arrived back from our Las Vegas trip last night so the only thing on my Kitchen Counter is unopened mail and my grocery list.  I have looked up the recipes for most the great food we ate (or wish we ate) in Las Vegas including Bacon Waffles and Chicken and Waffles - so my counter top should look awesome tomorrow (or as soon as I get a waffle maker).  We had lots of fun in Las Vegas but not as much as Crystal and Joey.  If we were still 21 we would have had a blast!  No luck with gambling - but I only gained 1 pound which is a miracle!

Christmas Mice

Hello Crafty Friends, Today, I am playing in some fun challenges with this cute card: The current House-Mouse &Friends Monday Challenge HMFMC #461 is Anything Goes with an optional theme of Pastels. I have some pastel paper in my layers. This card was made with ornaments from a SU! set, a cut up sentiment from RedLead Paperworks, and three mice I cut out of the Spellbinders Sew Sweet stamp set. The background was inspired by Jeanne Streiff's MIX challenge on Splitcoaststampers.com last Friday where she asked us to make a background using a die cut as a stencil.

T is For 10 Years of T-Day, Too much food, and The Art (Always the Art)

Hello Friends. Most of today's post is about celebrating 10 years of Elizabeth hosting T-day parties on her blog .  If you have visited me before, you know that I regularily participate in T-day where we all post something about a drink of any type (the drink can be anything including water and the post can be a real drink, words, movies, art, etc.) on Tuesday (or Monday lol) and link it to Elizabeth's T-day blog post for the week.   This year Elizabeth is asking us to post several things in celebration of the big anniversary.   #1.   Post a picture of something that makes the number 10. I used 10 art supplies that were near me.  I am starting to make more Christmas cards so these were right at hand.  #2.   Post our regular T-day picture/post.  My drink picture today is a lunch we had in Tybee Island last week during our Georgia trip.  We ate at Pier 16 .  Great food and service.
